Stocking fillers for 4yo DS

cherryscone · 20/08/2022 14:42

I know it's early but I would like to get little stocking fillers for my little boy from now until Christmas (just really bits I can pop away and it spreads the cost out nicely)

But the only things I have so far are...

  • small dinosaur car toy
  • toothbrush (always gets this)
  • the usual orange, small bit of change for his money box and chocolate coins or other sweetie item
  • small Lego bag (they were about £1.99 from Lidl) and make a small figurine

Any other ideas please! Grin

Pop over to the bargains thread. Quite alot of ideas on there that would be suitable.

Smogtopia · 20/08/2022 15:06

A little book, something cuddly like a teddy and a little fiddly toy like a yo-yo or a Rubix cube would finish that up nicely

Stationary
Play dough
Stickers
Bath bomb
Bubble bath
Flannel or sponge
Small bath toy
Chocolate Santa

Raindancer411 · 20/08/2022 15:07

Mine always got the chocolates (coins, bars), Lego mini figures, roblox surprise boxes, colour pens/crayons/, soft toy, mini Thomas trains, magazine or book (depending on stocking size) any small presents I got that fit

My DS will be 3.5 and I'm thinking of Schleich animals, small books, projector torch, magnifying glass, Brio train, small Duplo or Lego set, bath bombs, slime, playdoh, bubbles, glow sticks, crayons etc.

Think he will love one of those hot wheels colour change cars so that's an absolute must!

PritiPatelsMaker · 20/08/2022 20:18

It sounds barmy but plaque disclosing tablets went down really well here.

cherryscone · 20/08/2022 20:36

Thank you all!

How could I forget about bubbles 😂 I find it's getting more difficult each year as the things he likes are getting bigger and I refuse to spend so much getting a smaller item that's just the same as a larger item.

I got DS a Kaleidoscope last year when he was 3. He was completely underwhelmed at the time but loves it now. Also:
temporary tattoos
Slime
playmobil figures
slinky
paper planes
kids card games (snap, pairs etc)

Dc4 will be 3.5 at Christmas and thinking another hot wheels car, chocolate reindeer, a little playmobil or Lego city fire figure to go with his fire station. Colouring/sticker book, pens or pencils (whatever he is running low on). Some sort of crocodile (he loves them and has had a wooden one, rubber one & soft toy one since his 1st Christmas). That’s it so far, we have the smaller stockings so less to fill. Already getting the regular bits for my Dc. He got one of those torches last year with the pictures to put in, he loved that & still does.

Libmama · 20/08/2022 21:27

Definitely hot wheels cars if he’s anything like my almost 4yo!

PritiPatelsMaker · 20/08/2022 21:35

A Christmas book is usually nice as well.

Squashpocket · 20/08/2022 21:56

Things that have gone down well:

Rubix cube
Yo-yo
Slinky
Whoopee cushion
Fidget spinner
Pop-it

The whoopee cushion in particular was a massive success and cost about a £1.

Also, not a stocking filler but one Christmas we got one of those penguin run things after seeing it recommended on here. If you haven't seen one, it lights up, plays obnoxious music and the penguins go round and round ad infinitum. The kids though it was the best thing ever. Honestly if we'd only bought the penguins and the whoopee cushion they would have been delighted and we would have saved hundreds of pounds.

My kids get a pack of those little boxes of breakfast cereal. They look big when wrapped up and it’s the only time of year (other than away on holiday) that they are allowed sugary cereals so feels like a real treat.

Pot of slime
Colour change felt tips
Home bargains usually have some fab little finds - we've had lovely bits from there over the years
Glo sticks
Rolled up poster - map of the world, numbers etc?

HereIAmBrainTheSizeOfAPlanet · 22/08/2022 17:10

3yo is getting;
Train
Book
And an orange in his stocking.

It's not a very big stocking and I hate tat anyway.

Favouritefruits · 22/08/2022 17:39

Is your 4 yo starting school in September? If so get him a pack of blu tac, kids seem to love the stuff first when they start school!

Tuxedokitty · 24/08/2022 15:32

Mine will have a playmobil figure, lego figure, hot wheels car (I buy the box of 10 surprise bag ones when they're on offer on amazon, then pull one out whenever needed!) Crayola window markers, squeezy gross lizard and spider thing, bath bomb. And obviously a satsuma and chocolate coins.

I go on toysforapound.com and get pretty much all stocking fillers on there

Springday15 · 05/10/2022 08:18

A feel-me book. My 5yo DD got one last year and loved it, it's become her favourite book.
