How and when do you decide?

We are eating with DH side this year as we hosted my side last year. I'm hoping they will offer to host as I don't really fancy hosting again but will do if the offer doesn't come. May have to bring it up but not sure if too soon to plan yet in real life.

We just tend to alternate between each side of the family and if we fancy a quiet one we just say it will be just us this year and still see them in the day but eat alone.

We always have Christmas at home, since having the children my husband has always booked christmas off work (emergency services) but this year may be the first in 13 years he has to work 😭

We may invite my mum down. It's our first Christmas without my sister so would be nice to be together.

l just have a quiet chilled out christmas day with my two older sons. For years previously all of my family came over to mine, but now l am on my own its too much like hard work, l usually invite fanily over for a buffet on New Years Day, we meet up casualky before and after xmas, suits us all fine.
