We bought DS a remote control crane (JCB Chad valley) and it stopped working yesterday afternoon. DH took it apart and the whole mechanism inside is naff!

Of course it happens to be DS fave toy so one currently on reservation in Argos lol

Who's next...

ds1 got a wooden car transporter in his stocking and the cab has come unglued already (but since it was only £1.49 his mummy is not that surprised and will find the wood glue later )

The sink plunger has been snapped off of a small dalek.

The headress of a fairy costume has been snapped.

The very large R/C fire engine has a cross-head screw to open battery compartment but the screw thread is broken so we can't open it to put any batteries in. As it was an unusually good present from my mother, it was probably sold cheap in lieu of the damage anyway!

There is also an oversized Tweetie-Pie which will soon fall into the open fire. Or it will if I have anything to do with it.

Ha! Where do I start?!

Hot Wheels loop the loop track set -the motor that forces the cars through at speed seems to have an intermittent fault (resulting in it switching itself on randomly in the box, causing us all to be searching for strange unexplained noises in the middle of the night)

My First Scaletrix... one antennae broken from a car. Sigh............

Hairspray Shimmy Shake edition DVD not playing.

stephanie dressing up set ages 3-5, it is knicker length on my 4 year old and shiny cheap satin stuff so it is already clicked and the wig is all different lengths. Still dd3 living in it.......

ibroughtxmascake · 26/12/2007 20:43

Awful winnie the pooh drum set thing, just falls apart whenever DD bangs one of the drums.

She was really looking forward to it and her uncle had got her really really excited about it and to be honest it is completly rubbish

Dumbo is s'posed to play a tune when you pull his tail, but he remains completely silent.

purpleduck · 26/12/2007 20:50

dd[5] got ds [8] a small digital alarm clock - the numbers are all weird now, only half there. He is very

ATortIsForLifeNotJustChristmas · 26/12/2007 21:33

DS1's toy slot machine broke yesterday. It stopped spinning. Came from Ebay so am now searching for another one thats not too expensive!

wangle99 · 26/12/2007 22:01

DS is now happy again, we replaced said crane, however I don't think its going to be that long before this one breaks. How many do you think I can exchange in a year!

Password journal. Wouldn't recognise dd's first password. Reset it and now it opens for the dbrothers as their voices are so similar!

NAB3wishesfor2008 · 26/12/2007 22:04

My eldest son really wanted a remote control helicopter. I agreed against my better judgement as it looked really fragile. 2 bits have broken on it and DS1 is very upset. DH hoping to sort it v soon.

Scramble · 26/12/2007 22:05

Guitar case strap not stitched in (will exchange tomorrow) small music shop not argos so I have got half a chance.

Cheap transformer type car, will not transform and if it gets anywhere near being a car it falls aprt was standing joke all day yesterday as everyone had a shot at trying to put it together, will bin it soon as DS fogets about was cheap tat.

Nemostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 26/12/2007 22:08

dr who sonic screwdriver cue one very upset ds and have to go and replace it tommorow.

Charlene1 · 28/12/2007 01:19

The eye stalk on a small r/c dalek. It doesn't work on carpet, so dp and ds put it on the box - and it fell off and broke.
I superglued it but small hands had moved it whilst it was setting - now set in wrong place and doesn't move as glue ran down into "waggly bit" . Ds hasn't played with it since - probably expecting it to break again, as am I!!

RC digger from Lidls who are German and meant to be good.

RC car didn't work either. Most Unimpressed.

Wifi · 28/12/2007 02:27

My 4 year old loved the Play Mibil Castle.

TheDuchessOfNorksBride · 28/12/2007 20:23

And in good news...

DH has fixed the R/C fire engine. It is now wailing around the drawing room with DS1 shouting instructions at the top of his voice.

Why did I regard this as good news?

myrrhthamoo · 28/12/2007 20:30

Well ds2's RC battling Daleks didn't work at all (well, one did - but that makes for a pretty one-sided battle). Imagine if that was your number one, most wanted present?

And the RC flying helicopter has broken twice and been carefully glued back together - I know it has to be lightweight, hence the polystyrene, but it's so flimsy. Good fun though.

NomDePlume · 28/12/2007 20:37

I bought 5yo DD the Sylvanian Families Grand Hotel (£90). She pulled one of the windows clean off about an hour after she'd opened it
