I used bits of bacon - it says cooking bacon on the packet, I cooked with it, and it didn't work. I don't think I allowed for shrinkage of the blanket.

I'm sorry, but your thread title made me laugh! And don't worry about culinary cock ups. We had one, I repeat one rock hard roast potato each at my MIL's yesterday.

They were fine. My mother troffed most of them anyway!

lucky you. I forgot to take mine out of the oven until 40 minutes ago!! They are charcoal in blankets!!! (and I forgot to do the stuffing!!)
