she has 7 year old dd.shes had hard year with dh leaving, been going a bit wild(making most of it i suppose but going way too far).she phoned 2 weeks ago saying she was depressed and had thought about harming herself.she has family history of mental health issues.so sensibly she went to gp for anti d's.her friends have been worried and phoning her-which i think is fair enough if she says she thought of harming herself.but she just says oh what now and doesnt want to talk.iknow shes depressed but were all worried.but we understand so am waiting for her when she needs us.she put up decorations even though she said she was dreading xmas.now shes taken them all down, isnt doing xmas day.when asked what about her dd she said oh she can go to my mums for dinner.shes also told her dd theyre moving 4 hours away, her dd is really upset.im so worried about her and sad for her dd.we invited her over today as i thought id do something xmasy with her but friend said shes taking her to work with her-she has a shop.feel so sad for them.

Could you go and pick her DD up from her shop for a few hours?
Maybe wrap a few small gifts and put them in a stocking/ pillow case, so she at least has something to open tomorrow.
AD's do take a while to take effect, but it sounds like she needs to go back to her GP if they are not working.
