What does your Christmas evening look like?

I'm currently in the bath enjoying my new bubble bath 🛀

Dh and dd doing crafts downstairs before bedtime.

Dh and I will probably watch a film later and carry on eating!

What does your evening look like?

Just back from the big family get together and now a couple of hours on my own before bed.Lying under a blanket drinking tea, eating Christmas chocolates and watching Bake Off. Was so bloody nice to see the family after last year in Tier 4.

Sat in new pjs watching call the midwife while parter is at work, answering 999 calls for the ambulance service until 7am

Currently lying fatly in the bath with new bath oil and a glass of wine. DH is playing video games with the eldest, the others are all asleep.

Today has been surprisingly lovely! Very pared back due to bastard covid with half of our family not being able to come but it actually made it very chilled out.

We have 4 DCs (one with SN) and they’ve literally just got to the age where they’ll all sit through Christmas lunch, eat almost everything and be great company. We played board games after which usually ALWAYS end in Armageddon but today was almost a Hallmark experience . My Mum, who calls a spade a spade actually told me that DH and I were doing a great job with them so I’m literally getting that painted in 6 foot letters on my house as the last year with COVID (I’m a covid facing HCP), sudden tragic bereavement, serious illness together with one of the DC’s SEN issues has been TOUGH.

Just had a lovely hour or so on the sofa in a food coma, with the dog snoring across my legs, watching Bake-Off remotely with my best friend while chatting via text and having a Bailey's 'together' even though she's a hundred miles away. DS is upstairs playing his new game and chatting to a friend; DH is watching videos on how to use some new music software I got him.

Now the children are older, we've been playing drinking games!! Now DS1 feels off and is in bed, the rest of us are waiting for the cricket 😊 We've had a lovely day, dodgy relations with mother in law restored by a lovely dinner and really appreciated presents

Spoke at length to some relations on the phone. Watched Eastenders and some Christmas music programmes. Partner's in the shower, I'm doing the shopping order for Monday. Going to watch Call The Midwife soon and have some ice cream. Been a deliberately chilled out day, saw other relations earlier in the week.

The cheeseboard came out, we watched some Christmas TV, DC were busy with their new gadgets, we all hit a wall at around midnight and went off to bed.

Peace and quiet. Back home from my mother’s (we had to take lunch there); presents opened. Everyone reading a book and listening to music with a glass of toffee vodka.

Once the children were in bed DH and I had a lovely cuddle on the sofa (and a foot massage for me!) while catching up on some recorded Tv and eating indulging in some pudding. Was perfect end to perfect day

Mine was lovely, we introduced DC to Sherlock which they loved and just had a very lazy evening in front of the fire, watching Tv and eating and drinking. All in bed by 10.30 as DS gave us all a very early start. Was blissful.

It looks like PJs, Call the Midwife, Christmas Corrie, a few games, cheese and cold cuts, and a few more drinks.

I got back after dropping my mum home at about 9, played games and chatted with ds12 and a sloe gin, half watched gogglebox Christmas special with Dh, ds16 was all familied out and sloped off to his room. All pretty chilled.

Drunk 🥳 woke up this morning to find half a bag of nuts stuck to me, along with a buttered cream cracker and the music still blaring out.

Dreadful headache lasted over 12 hours so no vision quest after call the midwife it was dark room painkillers trouble is h likes radio so no sleep after midnight in the end I turned it off and got sleep at last I am free of it.
