Ok, so being the impatient organised person that I am, and not wanting the girls to be bogged down with presents on christmas day, we have opened a few from distant relatives that have arrived in the post.

DH's gran has sent the girls a pair of PJ's each, fab, right sizes etc but also accompanying them was a pack of 4 pairs of knickers.... age 9-10 (my girls are 2 and 3!) with a note in them - "2 pairs each, lots of love Gran"

WTF?

Age 9-10 knickers.... for a 2 and 3yr old?! And to SHARE them?!

Last year, MIL bought me an article of clothing that can only be described as a "ghost costume". It was greyish/white, hooded, knee length, zip up and just really strange. We were at my mum's when I opened it, I put it on and everyone cracked up laughing. Then some people (total strangers) walked past our window (on Christmas day walk with their dog), looked in and saw me in this thing and could not stop themsleves stopping, pointing and creasing up with laughter. I send the item to the charity shop!

ROFL at 'ghost costume' lol

From dh's side of the family Ive had a set of 2 purple shower curtains and a set of 3 drinking glasses. We've also had tea towels before now.

God knows what I'll get this year lol

I think I see a theme here... its usually everyone MIL that gets the naf pressies ( except my strange father) Perhaps its just a case of them not having girls to buy for usually, so not knowing what to get for sons wives? maybe?

at Ghost costume!!!

last year my my mil got me hair straighteners (i have naturally very curly hair- and don't WANT to straighten it!) and dh a string hammock in a tub that i swear is no bigger than pringles tub. Now, Dh may have lost some weight, but he is still a large man!!

Hair straighteners were the hit of ds's xmas stall, and the hammock remains in it's tub.

Thing is, naf presents are funny, but i would just rather she didn't waste her money..

My friend's mother bought her grandson (who was 8) a pair of swimming trunks as she wanted to take him swimming. He said they were too tight, but she insisted he wear them as they were the right size. Only after swimming did she realise they said 6 - 9 MONTHS!!

Me and my friends have a "crap christmas present swap" in January, We meet up at someones house in the evening, get slaughtered and bring our crap presents. We wrap them up, put them in a circle and spin a bottle, whichever it lands on you get.

Its a fantastic night, last year I won a "Delboy and Rodney" salt and pepper pot.
I quite liked them
