Went to m&s to collect food order.It was a breeze! No big queue outside like last year,quiet inside too so happy as I was expecting a LOT of stress and hassle

Did M&S last year and was very impressed. Tried Morrisons this year and wasn’t impressed at all! Ordered back in October but apparently no Christmas puddings left! Lots of other stuff missing too. I thought the whole point of ordering early was to ensure you could get the stock you wanted?? Nipped next door to Waitrose to see if they had any Christmas puddings left and they laughed at me as they were stocking the shelves with Easter eggs and barely a crumb of Christmas food left. Thank god Iceland of all places still had plenty of stock left. Mind, all three were quite nice and quiet. Went to M&S to buy some bits last weekend and it was total carnage!!

Not being smug, ordered from our local butchers, sent DH to collect, drive into large car park,1 person in front of him in queue collect box and pay

I went to ALDI at 2pm to pick up a few bits. You could have bought everything you need at a reduced price.

You're all very lucky. I did the ethical shop local thing. Chose a local butcher. They lost my order. Literally lost the actual bird (goose). The hell I will shop there again.

Walked down to our local Waitrose at 10.30 this morning and it was nice and easy. Only needed a few last minute bits but there were plenty of fresh turkeys and all the trimmings. No drama.

I was in our local, small Marks and Spencer at 8.15 to do a shop got everything I needed with one person in front of me at the till. Took that to the car, came back in and upstairs to get my food that I’d ordered. No queue, just one person in front of me. Got my food and was on my way. All done in less than 30 minutes.

My M&S had everything in stock at 4pm today, every type of turkey etc. Not a lot reduced. the caterpillar trifle was down to £6.00 and a few joint s had 1/3 off. do they sell them to staff, lots of the BB dates were 26/27?

Too much panic about shops closing for two days.

RoyalFamilyFan · 24/12/2021 18:18

@lilly7221w i was there last minute and noticed few reductions. But some staff were loading food into a van. I think it is donated to homeless shelters.

@ajandjjmum

Unlike Waitrose! Their delivery - ordered weeks ago - couldn't supply red cabbage, cauliflower cheese, stuffing, crackers, custard, brandy butter, smoked salmon + a load of other stuff. I didn't know until the early hours, so we had the last minute rush through no fault of our own.

We won't starve, but it's bloody irritating!

Me too.

Placed my Waitrose order weeks ago, over a third of the items missing, no attempt at substitution (even the delivery driver was surprised) and three damaged items.

Had to drive straight to the nearest town to replace the essentials.

Have cancelled my next two delivery slots and won’t do my Christmas shop with them again. They have really got it wrong this year.
