Seriously how are they still in business?

They have had one of my presents since the 18th it says Out for delivery

Update on your parcel
18:42 - Sun Dec 19
We're sorry we haven't been able to deliver today. We'll update your tracking when it's on the way on the next working day

Today another one says
17:32 - Wed Dec 22
Your local courier will deliver your parcel between 19:00 and 21:00 today

Well that ain't going to happen

typically they are both for ds too.

Its every time a place I order from uses Hermes the stuff is so delayed.

Hermes " solution"
What can I do if I haven’t received my parcel?
If you’re still waiting on your parcel and it’s been with us for over 7 days, please let the sender know so that they can get in touch with us, and we can look into it.

I have contacted the shop for the one they have had since the 18th and I guess will need to be patient about the other one but I am loosing hope

Was meant to say
It's every time a place I order from "A shop who "uses Hermes the stuff is so delayed.

It’s Royal Mail that’s hopeless around here. Our Hermes driver is by far the most reliable one.

Mountaintrip · 22/12/2021 22:31

I ordered presents at the end of November that have not been delivered. I wish that websites would state which courier they use, I would shop based on that. It’s only Hermes that have let me down

Enko · 22/12/2021 22:34

That would help yes Mountaintrip I too would avoid shops that use Hermes.

Heck Id pay extra to avoid them using them.

Just finally received a parcel today that was ordered three weeks ago on priority order so paid extra mainly because I knew it was Hermes so wanted to make sure and lo and behold it's been a big cock up.

Had the postage fee refunded and at least the gift is here but what a joke.

Busiest time of year for everyone but yet they constantly promise to get stuff out and every year it's the same issues with them.

Home4christmas · 22/12/2021 22:45

They're the worst. I wish retailers would advise before purchasing that they're using them. They have 5 parcels of mine from 4 retailers and all are at least a week overdue (one is 2 weeks late). No one is replying to me apart from one amazon seller who is saying they've contacted Hermes 🤷🏻‍♀️
I'll be returning everything..though I think they even have the cheek to charge for returns!

Laufeythejust · 22/12/2021 22:45

I hate Hermes! Our delivery man has taken to not bother walking up our path and instead launches the parcel at our front door. Scares the shit out of me and I’m always fuming in case he breaks what is inside!

Whitefire · 22/12/2021 23:51

A lot of issues or success is down to the local courier. Ours is great, albeit a little grumpy but things always turn up on time. I popped two parcels in the lockers on Monday and both were delivered today (approx 200 miles each) they even followed the safe place instructions for the one.

I hope the parcels turn up soon. My DH is on first name terms with ours as he takes in so many deliveries for the next door neighbour.

spiderlight · 23/12/2021 00:01

Our Hermes courier is absolutely brilliant - by far the most reliable of any of our local delivery services, and a thoroughly lovely chap too. It really does depend on the individual drivers and local hubs.

Enko · 23/12/2021 17:20

The one from last night has arrived but they are still holding on to the one from the 18th.

Our Hermes courier is fine. Royal Mail have been crap lately, I had 3 parcels ordered in November delivered yesterday. For one of them I’d already complained to the supplier and had a replacement delivered. Yodel are shit too.

DPD are my favourites Xmas Smile

herestoyoucolinrobinson · 23/12/2021 17:45

I love DPD too!

I've tried paying more for next day when I know a shop uses Hermes and they still send it with Hermes. On the plus side you normally get the delivery fee back when it inevitably doesn't arrive the next day.

Dodgyveneers · 23/12/2021 18:20

DPD is brilliant- I know things will turn up with them and I get a time slot. Is Hermes really cheap for companies to use? Is that why they use them?

YorkieTheRabbit · 23/12/2021 18:39

Hermes are fine
Yodel ✅
DPD✅
DHL ✅
It’s Royalmail that we have problems with, I’ve had two parcels recently that have been sent to the opposite side of the country by mistake before being sent here. Two more that have been delayed by a couple of days

BornOnTwelfthNight · 23/12/2021 18:54

I’m waiting for something from Amazon ordered on the 12th. Amazon update says it will be here by 8pm tonight.
Hermes tracking says they’re still waiting for the parcel.
But neither say out for delivery!

I’m doubting it’s going to arrive in time for Christmas now!☹️

crazyjinglist · 23/12/2021 18:57

Yep. I've twice had a notification card from Hermes saying they've put my parcel in my shed. I don't own a shed Hmm

RegretfulRufus · 23/12/2021 18:59

Hermes are very reliable by me just Royal Mail that are rubbish.
Hope you sort it out x

mam0918 · 23/12/2021 18:59

Hermes is a joke... They have lost one of my packages, of course, it's not their fault though it's somehow the sender's fault they lost it according to them.

Last Hermes package was supposed to be 2-day delivery (extra paid) it took 3 weeks, spent that time sat at a bloody sorting office.

I don't think the drivers are to blame at all the problems all seem to be at the sorting office.

LtJudyHopps · 23/12/2021 19:00

OP I heard of a trick today by a colleague! She said she’s seen it online a lot.
They’d had a parcel of hers for a couple of weeks and she’d heard if you change your alternative address (but put your address down still) it triggers something and parcels turn up.
So she updated her address yesterday morning and it turned up in the afternoon.
Might be worth a shot?

mam0918 · 23/12/2021 19:02

I get this too 'secure in garage/shed/outhouse'.

They mean under a broken wood fence panel (clearly visible and reachable by everyone) in a public street area that isn't even on my property, they have been told multiple times but still do it.

senorafridgidaire · 23/12/2021 19:04

Parcelforce have failed me miserably this week - my family's christmas presents sent by 24 hour delivery on Monday, showing as 'out for delivery' since 8am Tuesday, they are 'conducting a search' for the parcel but I've had no update since they first said that despite chasing. My poor mum has stayed home all week as she's worried she will miss it and now she's saying she'll change her Christmas Eve plans to wait in for it, I've told her not to but I'm not sure she's going to listen. FFS Parcelforce.

I tried to do this every time I clicked the link it just took me back to the delivery tracking page.

Any as I expected, parcel didn’t arrive. Amazon’s expected delivery date changed to 24th-28th Dec. So contacted seller with a request to cancel.
Also reported to Amazon.

Seller wasn’t very happy that Hermes seem to have lost the parcel, so refunded me this morning!
