I have 4 DC, somehow they’ve all ended up with the same amount in their stockings except 10 year old DD - now normally I would leave it as it’s only 1 thing short and I don’t think they count (I don’t think) however looking at them DDs also looks a bit boring compared to the others, they also all have something they can open and play with straight away whereas she doesn’t

The others have things like laser pens, magnifying glasses, whoppee cushions, snap bands, those little miniature backpacks that have tiny stationery inside, whereas DDs is more things like, a mini metallic paint pallet, a bath bomb and a Barbie outfit - nothing she can get into straight away

So does annoy one have any ideas of something I can order off Amazon that’s a bit more fun for her?

A card game:

Romemarie · 22/12/2021 15:16

How about a cube puzzle ball.? Or a book?

Talipesmum · 22/12/2021 15:41

Kinetic rings - they are brilliant, soothing, fun. And they don’t tangle like slinkies.

Search on amazon for “kinetic rings” - I think there are some with quick delivery still there.

PlanktonsComputerWife · 22/12/2021 15:52
  • Make a bracelet set
  • Set of fabric pens and a plain white t shirt to decorate
-Pass the pigs/pugs or exploding kittens

Tiny hands, Thinking putty, a miniature game?

DietCokeChipsAndMayo · 22/12/2021 16:25

Lots of really good suggestions, none of them are really ‘her’ though, I think the problem is with 2 brothers with SN they have all the little fidget toys imaginable, so lots of these are things similar to what they have

@HollyandIvyandAllThingsYule she’s very artistic, very creative, still loves a Teddy and things like those big squishy cushion things, and loves anything rainbow! Tbh she’s quite easily pleased so she’s always a struggle to buy for - this year for example all she asked for was a few specific sets or colours of certain pens so after I’d got her those I really had to rack my brain for things she’d like bless her, although all the novelty stuff doesn’t really excite her - whereas my other kids are suckers for novelty tat 🙄

@PlanktonsComputerWife the fabric pens and a t shirt is a fab suggestion and very her but I’ve got her a whole tie dye set as one of her tree presents 🤦🏻‍♀️

Colour your own purse/pencil case/bag set

I have DD10 and stocking is bath bomb, sweets, pants (!), shower gel, nail polish, some earrings she wanted from Claire's, a scrunchie, nice pens and a pink me pop.

Confuuuzed · 22/12/2021 17:00

Depending on size of stocking, mine has a 'top model - make up' book (and some watercolour pencils) , she might like that if creative? Its about A5ish sized. What you cant see on the amazon page is theres lots of blank faces for you to design make up etc either with the stickers or by colouring.

Coronawireless · 22/12/2021 17:14

Scratch art notebooks
Gel pens(can get huge sets quite cheaply)/Colouring books
Squishmallows
Slipper socks
Quick portable games (dobble, boggle, bananagrams)
Slime
Small Lego sets
Fimo clay with keyring/magnet accessories
Echo dot
Mini dressmaking kit

Coronawireless · 22/12/2021 17:20

Also plush toy hottie/hot water bottle if she hasn’t got one already.

Coronawireless · 22/12/2021 17:21

Or fleece throw/blanket

I just bought my DD14 a little stocking filler called Soundiculous from prime, around the size of maybe flash cards.

It’s a game and meant to be something that can pick up straight away, (so not necessarily a sit at the table thing) and the aim is to make points from guessing sounds made by another person/teams

So they range from easy (ex. duck) to medium (ex a drill) to hard (ex. bubble wrap) the reviews were brilliant and lots saying from age 4 to 94 the whole family in stitches...

My DD, while older is also very creative/stagey/creative and this sounds right up her street, maybe something your DD might like?

HollyandIvyandAllThingsYule · 22/12/2021 17:27

Is the stocking big enough for a book? Maybe she’d be quite happy to lose herself in that for a while if she’s a confident reader.

Otherwise I agree with a little Lego set, a mini puzzle or brain teaser, or maybe a clay activity set.

Or, how about a little maileg mouse in honour of our very own Mumsnet miracle mouse, Matilda...they come in a little matchbox bed and if she loves stuffed animals I’m sure she’d love one. Depends on budget though.

herestoyoucolinrobinson · 22/12/2021 17:27

Someone once bought me a tiny zen garden and I loved it! It was about the size of a pack of cards so would fit in a stocking.

Idontgiveagriffindamn · 22/12/2021 17:29

Some blopens? I had something similar as a child and loved them

Lacedwithgrace · 22/12/2021 17:42

Something from Lush, they have great products aimed at kids
