I baked the Xmas Cake a couple of nights ago (a chocolate, fruit & nut sponge, rather than the traditional stuff) and managed to burn it.

So I just sliced off the burnt top, and discovered that it wasn't burnt at all, it's just a very dark cake.

I can't stick the top back on now, because the way I discovered that it wasn't burnt was by taking a great bite out of it.

Can't let it go to waste now, can I?

Get stuck in there!

Pass us a slice

Have you got a drop of brandy butter, Pestomonster - it's a tad dry.

Which gives me an idea....I've got a can of chestnut puree lurking somewhere, butter, icing sugar, chocolat liqueur (or maybe Kassis)...
