Best switch games

DS and DD are getting a switch for Christmas with two games a Mario one and animal crossing

What are the best games for a 10 and 7 year old?

Both have birthdays coming up so I'm sure they'll ask for more games but I'm clueless as to what's good!

Mario Kart
Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
Tetris
Mario Golf
Sayonara Wildhearts

Possibly Minecraft
Or Minecraft Dungeons
Cadence of Hyrule
Mario Odyssey
Just Dance (actually, I love this, but I like the Der versions, 2020-2022 are a bit naff for music)

Mario party is a good laugh for multiplayer fun

Lego games are really good.

DS 9yo would say Minecraft.

Me 34yo would say Mario Kart.

DS 10yo would say Mario Maker.

We all loved Odyssey

Is it regular switch rather than the switch lite? If so buy an extra set of joy cons for family Mario kart tournaments.

Make sure you get Mario Kart if you don't have it already. Super smash bros is another good game for family tournaments.

Otherwise it depends what they're into. My kids love Minecraft. You can get Among Us on the e-shop. Pokemon Diamond and Pearl if they like Pokemon. Stardew Valley if they like Animal Crossing.

Oh yes Mario Maker and Mario Odyssey are very popular in our house. I'm really exited for the new Kirby Odyssey style game out next year.

Splatoon as well- we all love it

DC say Sonic Mania, Lego DC super villains, Lego Harry Potter and Minecraft.

Splatoon 2 has been the absolute winner in our house - but it’s still full price and Splatoon 3 is due to be released soon, so it may be worth saving that for a birthday.
The Labo stuff is great quality play and really shows off the versatility of the Switch compared to other consoles (the cardboards bits are a pain in the arse to store, though).
