Every year I bake for the guys at work, so this year I’m baking
Vanilla cupcakes
Coffee cupcakes
Lemon drizzle and
I’m making Christmas peppermint bark
I’ve also had orders off of my uncle and his neighbour for lemon drizzle
So now I have to make 5....
I got away with it as my Nan made the drizzle ( her recipe) but when she died 3 years ago they asked me as I’m quite good at baking so now every year I’m making lemon drizzle cake 😂

What are you guys baking?

Ginger cake

Christmas cake and pudding are done, as is some biscotti. Once I finish work tomorrow I will spend some time in the kitchen doing a bit of Christmas baking as the kids want to make the Lakeland cookie tree and we'll do some truffles too, decorated like sprouts Smile.

Tempted to try some festive red and green macarons but I don't have the knack so there's a significant chance they won't work and will look rubbish. I do need more practice at them I suppose

@TheSandgroper

Trifle from scratch. Slow cooker 3 ingredient Christmas cake. Chocolate cake. Steamed syrup pudding (42 degrees forecast) Nutmeg cake. Pan forte.

All still to do.

Oooh 3 ingredient slow cooker Christmas cake sounds great. Just had a look. Looks great.

This is my first day off for Christmas so the children and I are baking shortbread and gingerbread cookies. I’ll fit in the slow slow cooker cake too.
We’ll make mince pies, cinnamon rolls and gingerbread houses tomorrow.
I might try my hands at a focaccia.
Please share if you’ve a recipe.

Also can anyone recommend a good homemade custard recipe?

So my day of baking started at 11.30 am and I finished at 7pm.... first batch of cupcakes fucked up because I was too busy talking and forgot myself on the method. But everything turned out brilliantly after....

Managed to ice my Christmas cake tonight, nice and early. Last night I made 2 types of pastry (sweet almond and plain) for mince pies and my gingerbread dough. Only planning on baking Christmas eve and if I cook too early then they go too quickly. I want to be done for 3pm christingle this year.

Considering a chocolate capri almond cake to have for boxing day might sandwich it with cream and raspberries

I'm also meant to be doing a pile of waffles for a gathering.

I'm doing some Christmas tree cupcakes with my eldest, I bought a cupcake kit from Sainsburys because I'm feeling lazy this year and honestly can't be bothered weighing out ingredients although I will be making snowflake cake pops myself at some point, probably on boxing day so I can take some to work with me
