Help! Last minute main gift dd 15

My main gift for my dd 15 has fallen through (event and trip away cancelled). This was to be a real “wow” present. And I am stuck without an alternative. She is v down to earth and has a v modest wish list, most of which is covered by relatives. She’s arty but not crafty and has loads of supplies, not into make up etc, likes Harry Potter, Star Wars, reading, being in nature. Any ideas please? So far I’ve thought of a light set for one of her Lego models, and maybe a box of star wars Lego but I’m not sure that this would fill the hole. Budget up to £120 but can be flexible (the original gift was more but her sibling’s gift was £120ish so that would be fair). Think I need to sort it today/tomorrow. Can anyone inspire me?

Definitely an Oodie - type hoodie. Things for her room? I bought my DDs an armchair cushion that went down well.

Has she been to zip world in north Wales? I think that is what it is called. V long zip line, tobogan run, trampolines in caves etc. Great fun if she is adventurous.

Depending on how close to Bristol you are , a friend took her daughter to swim with little crocodiles . Not my thing but she loves it . My daughter is 16 and is getting a record player and records .

Apparently sunset lamps are a big thing right now according to some of the year 10s that I was talking to at my school

A great list of tech gifts on the John Lewis Website:

Not sure if they've been mentioned but we all have AirPods and really wouldn't be without them.

Or if she's into nature, how about a nest box camera or a weather station etc?

Op as you are South Wales (I am in Cardiff), there is the zipworld in Rhondda, Go Ape activities at Forest of Dean, car driving experience in Cardiff?? Let me know her interests and I'll have a think! I have a DD16. I was clueless. Me and a mum of one of her friends are giving them the treat of deciding and planning an experience together, so they both go, but they have to decide, plan, organise!

My teenage son wanted a sun rise alarm clock last year and my teenage daughter wanted a star projector for her room that throws pretty patterns on the ceiling and links to her music. Both still used a year later.

if she likes harry potter there are some BEAUTIFUL fancy box set editions that she might like - there are some illustrated ones, some mina lima ones with cute little interactive paper elements, and some house editions in box sets if you know the house she likes?

also second cursed child

also air pods (v expensive for my cheapy android self but mine have surprisingly never lost them!)

Lacedwithgrace · 18/12/2021 16:04

Picnic blanket, pretty flask or hot mug, travel art supplies/case for when she's out in nature. 17yo niece has a picnic basket she takes out for walks just for her.

RoseValleyRambles · 18/12/2021 16:15

Online art or photography tutorials with an artist she likes / in a similar style to hers? There are lots of paid, pre-recorded courses and probably some more interactive live ones too.

A years odeon membership?

Bagadverts · 18/12/2021 17:17

Are the event and trip away things that are completely cancelled or delayed? If delayed can you give her an iou and a related present. (So if it was a beach/ski holiday new swimming costume/ski gloves)?

HunterGatherer · 18/12/2021 17:17

Helicopter sightseeing trip?

Just wanted to say your DD sounds fab!

user33323 · 18/12/2021 23:55

Does she need a main expensive present? My same age DD is just having smaller gifts this year, I aim for around 10 things to open, some years this might include an expensive gifts, some years not at all. I'd make present amount similar and give the rest in a gift card for the future trip.

But if it's small things you are stuck for, my dd is getting one of those aurora LED light show projector things, a weighted blanket, mug cake sachets, hot chocolate gift set, handmade Harry Potter themed gift set from Etsy, water colour paints and clothes.

user33323 · 18/12/2021 23:56

Oh also Comicon tickets. Maybe you can find tickets for something.
