Ditch the cloves, put the cinnamon stick, some lemon juice, hot water and whisky in a glass and close the children in a room with a TV. Bliss.

Cinnamon sugar is lovely on mince pies

Cloves ,Brown sugar, Irish whiskey and going water is a great hot toddy especially if you have a cold, much prefer it to the scotch version. I first had it in Dublin when I had a stinking cold and a barman made me one for free, you have to love the Irish ( not sarcastically)
