Best ham recipes

I am waiting the results of a pcr test but if its negative I am on ham duty this year. I usually slow cook it on apple juice with a cinnamon stick and then bake with a balsamic glaze. I fancy trying something different. What ham recipes are your favourites?

I cook mine in cider, carrots & onions. I just take it out and remove the skin and fat. No second cooking. We get a lovely moist ham and I add lentils to the cooking liquor and make soup.

I have thought of doing something like this with the cooking liquor, but wondered if it is a bit salty?

I cook mine in ginger beer and orange peel then glaze with a reduction made from a little more ginger beer, honey and mustard. It is dreamy!

I don’t want my ham to taste of anything else but ham so mine is done in the slow cooker in water. Melt in your mouth. Perfect 👍

Does the Good Housekeeping recipe taste of star anise at all? I don’t mind a hint of it, but any more and it overpowers all the other flavours.

This Nigel Slater recipe is completely exceptional. I have never found a naicer ham recipe:

I always do mine in the slow cooker with cherry coke and a halved onion.

Then I make a glaze with honey, brown sugar and a bit of apple cider vinegar. It’s delicious!

Nigellas ham in cherry coke at xmas but I also do it in normal coke and glaze with treacle or maple syrup.
