Running watch

I’d really like a new running/sports watch. I currently have a really basic Fitbit which needs an upgrade. I’m so confused by all the different types!

Features I would like:
Able to track with GPS and link to Strava
Able to make it beep/vibrate from my phone (from when I lose it)
Decent battery life

Does anyone have one they can recommend?

what phone do you have?
if apple then go for an apple watch. strava works with that as well.

My sister is an avid runner. I got her this Garmin Forerunner one, and it definitely connects to Strava well because she uses it with the watch.

I think it's a pretty reasonable price, and has lots of features specifically for running. There's loads of info and reviews about it on the page, that will be more helpful that I can sum up. But she loves it.

I've got a Garmin vivoactive 4s arriving from Father Christmas. My sister has one and it looks brilliant - it also has a fall alert function which looks useful if you go off road or are prone to accidents like me. Though I don't know if you can make it bleep when you lose it! 😁

Another Garmin devotee. I have the garmin Venu. Which also lets me to load music so I don’t need to carry my phone . My watch is linked to my phone and strava so I get messages and can load activities automatically to Strava but not sure if it will find my phone if lost

Another vote for garmin here..I have the one linked in PP...I went for the 45s as I have quite small wrists and it's the perfect size. It also has the emergency fall alert function mentioned above and can control your music from it..I had a Fitbit before that but much prefer the forerunner.

I really really wanted the garmin venu when I bought one for myself a while back but couldn't afford it so went with the Samsung watch 4 whi h does all the things you want. If you have an iPhone the apple watch is v good. But the round venu is beautiful!

I have a COROS pace 2. It is brilliant not mega expensive I do a lot of trail running and it keeps GPS perfectly, really light I couldn’t bear anything clunky, a tiny bit fiddly getting it to link to Strava to start with but have had absolutely no issues. I wear it all day and find it very comfortable. Buzzes with phone calls and messages and gives text message narrative.

This is my first running watch but I think it’s brilliant - the main selling points for me for me were lightness and comfort, cost and comfort and for me it’s brill.
