mini backpack for a 13yr old

DD (13 yrs) has no particular requests for Christmas. She has no interest in fashion / typical teen girls things, so it is very hard to buy her presents

She has said that a 'mini backpack' might be good, for weekends out with friends. What brand should I look for?

I think this one is nice

My 14yo has a black leather one similar to crazycatlady's. I can't recall where it was from it doesn't have a brand, but would just have been high street. It has really long adjustable straps and she wears it half way down her back - it seems to be a current trend! It's not very big, but adequate for hanging around town.

My teen isn't into name brands, and has a very quirky fashion sense. I got her Lucy and Yak bags for her birthday (bonus, because I can borrow them too ) they have some really cool rucksacks, shoulder bags etc

These are lovely, or are they too practical?
