Gift for DS partner

She is 25, a student. They have their own house. I think she likes anime, harry potter, the usual makeup and perfume, not sure what else. She doesnt cook (DS does it all).
She is difficult as I dont enjoy buying for her as she never acknowledges gifts. Dont get me wrong, I dont give gifts for the glory and dont expect some weird display of gratitude but even a nod would be nice. So the joy has kind of gone from taking the time to choose something she would love.
Previously spent a lot of time choosing gifts ( a beautiful bound harry potter book, japanese legends books, urban decay palette, nice oil and melts burners etc.)
I gave her a £50 feel unique voucher for her birthday as I was short of ideas them too so maybe not makeup etc.

Any ideas?

My DD's partner never thanks me either so I know what you mean!

Heated blanket? Cocktail mixing set? Ancestry DNA? Hoodie?

I would probably ask DS what her favourite perfume is and buy that.

But it's lovely that you are putting so much thought into it. I've been with DH 14 years and MIL still just puts 2 £10 notes in a tiny brown envelope for me. She's never actually stopped to find out what I like.

I can see how that would grate. It takes seconds to thank someone. In the spirit of good relations I agree with continuing to give a gift for your sons sake though.

Restaurant voucher for them to use on a date night.
Favourite perfume.
Tickets to a comedian.

I came on here looking for ideas for my DS's girlfriend. She's a lovely girl but I don't know what to buy, I have no idea what 22 year old women like. Last year I got posh pyjamas .
I wouldn't buy anyone perfume and I've never seen her wear make up. She's a medical student and loves animals.
I saw a lovely hand painted silk scarf on Etsy which I would certainly buy for someone older but not sure for a young person

Harry potter lego? The kits are quite adult oriented.

If she is an animal lover what about a sponsorship gift?

My DD loves horses and donkeys. We got her a years sponsorship of a little Shetland pony at a local rescue place. She can visit him for free whenever she wants and help out with grooming and feeding. She also gets letters from him every few months.

It was her absolute favourite gift last Christmas.

A sponsored animal! Ooh that sounds like a good idea.
