When do you put presents under the tree?

Just that really but applies more to if you have kids. Do you put them under gradually or do you put them under in the night of Xmas Eve?

If you put them gradually, do the kids not question why there are presents under the tree if Santa comes only on Xmas day?

Or if you put them out gradually and the kids question it, what do you say?

Gift we buy to give to others live under our tree until such times as we see that person.

Any gifts we receive from anyone we put under the tree as we get them until Christmas morning.

Dh and I put 1 gift from us for dd under the tree and we also our gifts to each other there too.

Everything is clearly labelled, so there's no confusion. On Christmas morning it it Dd's job to read to labels and hand the gifts to each person to open. We take turns opening and we wait to see what we each got before opening the next one. There aren't usually too many presents under the tree though.

Even though she is a teen santa still lays out all of dd's presents in the same place by the fireplace and fills her stocking.

Dh and I also get stockings too. None of these gifts are wrapped

Santa leaves a present for the pets too, alongside dd's.

We have not messed with the traditions set when she was a baby! And we all love it

Even though she is a teen, dd usually asks for a surprise, and it has to be said, she usually does very well for herself too!!

Christmas Eve even though there are no small children here.

Mostly when they are ready due to lack of storage space. We have a large tree and no point leaving a big empty space underneath. Anything edible will go right at the back because of the pooch. We usually keep DD's back until xmas eve when we are at home but hopefully at my parents this year. DD has small stocking in her room.

DH and I argue over this every year!

I just remember the awe and magic to come down to a pile of presents on Christmas Day! I wanted my kids to have that magic, has Santa been? I also love seeing their excited happy faces. Rather than open the lounge door and oh look there’s that pile of presents that has been there for weeks.

DH is posher 🤣 and in their family they put most under the tree weeks before and he wants credit for them and not Santa blah blah. I think that completely takes away any excitement and magic.

I will fight this until the kids leave home!

Christmas Eve to stop them getting damaged, opened. Before.

Father Christmas only brings the stockings presents, they know the presents under the tree are from us and family,

It’s just me & DH. I would like us to put them under the tree on Christmas Eve just before we head up to bed.
DD(19) will be with us on the 21st to the 23rd so I will put hers under late on the 21st for her to open on the 22nd.
When she was little any presents from family or friends went straight under the tree but Santa and Mum & Dad presents (including for each other) went under on Christmas Eve when DD went to bed.

We don't have big families and we see them on Christmas Day so the presents we have under the tree are limited.

Santa brings a big pile for each child and a stocking.

Two 5 year olds here, we do Christmas Eve as that's when Santa does his rounds.

I wrap and put under the tree as I go along. Most of them are there now.

When the DC were around 1 we didn't put them out until Christmas Eve because they'd have unwrapped them but since then they've always left them alone.

The DC leave sacks out in their bedrooms for Father Christmas to fill on Christmas Eve night.

DH wrapped all the presents for our DC and our niece and nephew last night and put them under the tree. DC haven't even noticed.
