Stocking fillers for 8yo dd?

I'm really stuck for some reason! I always put something from Lush in there so she's got a candy cane shaped bubble bar, I'll get some chocolate coins and I've bought a Sylvanians blind bag. I was thinking maybe a Roblox gift card?

What do yours get in their stockings?

Depends what she's into.
It's a long time since ours were 8 and no games etc then.
Books (even a colouring book and pens), girls annual, scrunchy (if she has longish hair), small toys (although ours were girls they still liked little cars). Bangles, knecklace etc. Don't have to be expensive just little parcels to unwrap.

FiddleFigs · 01/12/2021 10:14

For DD8's stocking, we're doing: bath bomb, jar of sweets, Top Trumps, a couple of books, set of glittery felt pens, a DIY dreamcatcher kit, a LOL surprise doll, fluffy slipper socks, a TY bag charm, a pretty headband and a whoopee cushion.

DH thinks this isn't enough, but she also gets a separate present from Santa, so I think this is plenty.

You've just reminded me I bought a whoopie cushion yesterday so I'll put that in! Where did you get the dream catcher DIY from? Dd would love that Smile

Scrunchies are a good idea, thank you. She loves them but I never think to buy them!

I got a hand sanitiser holder and lip balm holder in the shape of cute animals to attach to a schoolbag, from Claire's Accessories. They always have stocking fillers that are good for that age group.

ShellfishLove · 01/12/2021 11:10

Mini jars of Nutella from Home Bargains (I don’t normally let her have it, so this will be a huge treat!), a little magnetic stacking toy (also Home Bargains), glitter make up, books, cosy socks, crop tops, Kindi Kids doll, face masks, candy floss, a memo block etc

17caterpillars1mouse · 01/12/2021 13:38

What about a schleich unicorn if she likes unicorns. Even if she doesn't play with that type of thing they look pretty on a shelf

CoffeeChocolateWine · 01/12/2021 14:10

My DD is 9. She’s getting…
Book
Personalised marshmallow toasting fork
Pop-a-cob
Bath bomb
Fidget toy
Hair clip with coloured hair attachment
Clip-on snowflake earrings
Make up brush set
Lego dots snap band
Xmas origami paper
Mug cake book
Chocolate coins

MammaGnomes · 01/12/2021 22:02

I always do

Choc orange in the toe
Choc coins
Xmas magazine
Socks
Knickers

This year I'm adding
Roblox gift card
Starbucks gift card (she's obsessed with the decaf frappe)
Blind bags
Sylvanian family blind bag (didn't know these existed and her Santa gift is a house so this is perfect)
HP card game
Bobbles
Lip balm

And whatever other tat I pick up along the way

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 02/12/2021 09:16

Dd2 is 9 heres what's in hers (we do a sack rather than stocking so quite a few bits!)
Beauty facemasks.
Dinosaur and frog sand animals (i loved these at her age!)
Cookie cutters.
Fidget toys.
Stickers.
Nice gel pens.
Racing llamas.
Would you rather book.
Kinetic sand.
Jiggly ball.
Game books - squares, hangman, naughty and crosses.
Dvd.
Mini mirror.
Rubix cube.
Story book - llama destroys the world.
Game - this year is travel jask but previously loved no llamas, exploding kittens, pass the pigs, dobble.
Then always a cuddly toy, chocolates.

(This is from Santa and is opened first thing with their asked for gift. Gifts from us aren't opened until the afternoon so the sack is to occupy them!)

SlurpleThePurple · 02/12/2021 12:06

Thanks everyone! Some good ideas here. Managed to order some scrunchies and a lipgloss and some other bits from Claire's, and will maybe take a trip to Home Bargains/B&M and see what I can find.

DD8 there will be fluffy socks, reusable coffee cup, spy Glasses, spy pens, marbles, slingshot, whoope cushion, beano book, son of Bigfoot dvd (as she's been wanting to watch sequel on Netflix), pranks, umbrella, singing soap, hotwheels car, string of pegs for photos or artwork and the obligatory chocolate coins and satsuma. It looks very similar to DS stocking who is 3 but I've gone on what she likes and is interested in. Rex London online had some good stuff and toy section in my local Waterstones. Flying tiger also usually has stocking size things Xmas Smile

BigFatLiar · 02/12/2021 14:41

A silly/funny hat, one like an animal, may sound a bit childish but its a bit of fun (I have a panda hat which I wear and its some time since I was little)

Comedycook · 02/12/2021 14:44

Stationery
Books
Hairbands
Character toothbrush
Socks
Gloves
Stickers
Fake tattoos
Purse
Small Lego set
Slime
Hairbrush

AliceMck · 02/12/2021 17:10

I don’t do specific stocking fillers as such. I put things that fit in the stocking, in the stocking. I always buy the big tubs of sweets so they tend to go in but other than that it’s just whatever I can get in it.

user33323 · 04/12/2021 21:48
