Just spoke to my sis and realised I had got completely the wrong end of the stick with pressies this year. Long story short, I need to find a non-clothing gift for a 28 year old woman (also not DVDs or music, argh) and something for a couple who may or may not be my parents and who are IMPOSSIBLE to buy for.

Bollocks bollocks bollocks.

Something for the house? Thinking more for your parents there.
Something that will last all year - book flowers or wine to be delivered every so many weeks? Sister there.
Do the Oxfam thing?
Probably not very good ideas but it's late for me

TenLordsaLapin · 16/12/2007 22:08

Budget £50 per gift (ish)

Sorry, should have given more details. Sis not v girly - well, she is, but not into hair straighteners etc (not long enough hair either! )

Was thinking of photo of DS for parents - is that too horrendous?

Case of wine for sis might be good... hmmm.... could be shared with her DP also

What about a Freeview box?
That's what we've got for PIL.

TenLordsaLapin · 16/12/2007 22:14

Magrat · 16/12/2007 22:14

parents .. £50 theater vouchers

sister .. case of wine

suzi2 · 16/12/2007 22:15

Oxfam thing is good as you can't really moan about charity

We did a photobook for my in laws of DS and DD - aldiphoto are really fast, just a few days. It's really nice and I think they'll like it - and they can hide it on a bookshelf rather than having it on display all year.

Magrat · 16/12/2007 22:15

photo of DS alone .. only if you want them talking behind your back for the rest of the year

yama · 16/12/2007 22:15

I think a case of wine is an excellent idea.

A photo of ds for your parents is lovely. My parents always love the photos of dd I give them.

One piece of advice though. If you are putting it into a frame - make sure it matches their other frames. Folk can be funny about frames. My Nana took photo of dd out of the most beautiful (and expensive) frame I have ever bought. She put the frame into a drawer telling me it was "too fussy".

M&S have a deal on wine at the moment. WEBSS3C4 for £10 off, FREEDELV for (you guessed it) free delivery and there is 20% off as well. Offer ends today though.

Defo going with wine for sis, and THANK YOU for the codes and deals.

I am thinking photobook might be better actually - did one for my mum last year (this is dad and SM) - I will look at aldiphoto, not sure if Photobox can do fast enough, I need it for Saturday!

Thank you all, you are fab!
