Help - "Guess Who?" instructions needed

Hello all,

I'm doing a sustainable Christmas and just bought "Guess Who?" from the charity shop - but it doesn't have the instructions....
I've looked online, but I can't find the correct ones for this version of Guess Who. Could anyone help and post some photos of the instructions, please?

I'm posting a photo of the front of the box as this particular version doesn't have "mystery cards" - I now know far more than I ever needed to about Guess Who.Wink

With huge thanks

From the picture it looks like the top bit has a marker to indicate your chosen 'mystery' person/pet.
If that is the case, then surely they just select that and play as per the usual rules?

Keep a hold of it. It'll be a banned game some day.

I've had a look but can't see any for that version!

Use the pointer at the top to choose "your" character.

Open all the windows.

Ask questions to your partner about "their" character and close the windows which don't correspond. E.g. "do they have blonde hair" "no" "close the windows on all blondes".

Take it in turns to ask questions and close windows. When only one character is left you can guess who your partners character is

We don't have this exact one but have a Disney princess version which is the same.

This is it ^

Put the characters inside the windows.

Each player picks one character (secret) and the other player has to guess which character it is.

They do this by process of elimination by asking yes/no questions about their appearance: hair colour, eye colour, beard, moustache, bald/hair etc. (and controversially whether they are male/female in the olden days).

Close windows of characters who are ruled out.

Winner is person who correctly guesses opponent's character (usually by only having one window open, but you can guess beforehand if living hard and fast).

Added points for playing in the language your DC is learning at school.

As detailed above. Just make sure both players have the people or the pets. You cant mix them in the same game.

We have this version. You can print more sheets out for different characters but need to make sure you both have the same one (although would extra printing go against your sustainable Christmas?!)

TheGirlWhoLived · 30/11/2021 15:13

If you take out the card with guess who characters on it possibly has more or different ones on the back! I have the princess version, same as PP and it’s double sided.

So instructions: use the pointer thing and move the square over the character you choose. Ask yes or no questions. The other person can’t ask the same question straight back. as far as I remember, but can be a variant!

So if you ask “is it a girl” they could ask “is it a boy” but then whether it identifies as such… 🤷🏼‍♀️

Thanks so much to all who answered. I think we've got it now. Have a Merry Christmas, mumsnetters xx
