Elf Antics Thread

Those of you who do Elf on the Shelf, what have yours been up to so far?

Ours arrived yesterday and brought mini jars of nutella so we could have chocolate pancakes for breakfast.

This morning we found them (yes we have two, don't ask) playing subbuteo!

What have yours been up to, or are you waiting til 1st December? Ours have come a bit earlier this year as we are away for Christmas so they will be leaving for the North Pole a few days earlier.

Our elf arrives tomorrow morning. He’s going to stick snowflake and Christmas stickers all over the front window and hide behind the curtains so when I ask the DC to open the curtains in the morning he’ll be there!

Favourites are snow angels in icing sugar, putting antlers on the rocking horse and making a sleigh, zip line, sticking Christmas bows all over the kitchen cupboards or using them to make a climbing wall, making the bedroom doors into snowmen, decorating the Christmas tree with socks and pants, reading a Christmas story to all the other toys, raiding the biscuits/chocolate tin.

A few favs in our house....

Printed christmas hats blue tacked on family pictures, snow in a can pics on glass, spell out names with cheerios, takes selfies with the kid's camera, dressing up in dolls clothes, making pictures with cotton buds (a snowflake is v easy), sitting with tissues and calpol, midnight feast with toys (which is just whatever DH and i have consumed the night before), a dinosaur parade with elf riding the biggest one, normal eggs that change into kinders.

Ours isn't naughty. It's the first year of doing one because DS loves the program on Netflix. He found it at my DMs. It's just bringing various bits and pieces like the advent calendar and the santa letter writing stuff. A pair of elf pj's etc. DS will love it.

I love the Nutella poos idea - my two would love that!

Ours arrives tomorrow with advent calendars. Previous years she has:
Pooped chocolate chips on the toilet.
Eaten DHs advent calendar
Drawn on DHs face on permanent marker 🤣
Took a bath in marshmallows
Put pants on the Xmas tree
Tried to catch the fish in the tank with the net
Read stories to toys
Made breakfast leaving a mess
Brought presents/activities/bedding.
Toasted marshmallows over a candle
Ate dog food
Better stop there as I'll be going on all day!

What have everyone's elves been up to overnight? Ours had clambered up (using stick on present bows as footholds) to try and get to the advent calendars, the cheeky scamps!

We have 2. One dressed in red who occasionally leaves treats and one in black who's naughty. They don't spy for Santa or stalk my DC, they're just for fun. Mine are currently in quarantine in the dolls house until I can think of something to do with them. I might be poaching ideas from this thread

Ours got drunk on liqueur chocolates last year

Mine has just arrived, it's decorated ds bedroom in Harry potter Christmas decorations. Ds will be over the moon when he gets home. I got them from primark today and most of them were discounted so I didn't spend much on them at all.

Most successful trick last year was putting the elf inside an advent calendar so when they opened the next days window his head appeared (covered in chocolate)

Ours (along with our Tomte this year, that elf is a bad influence!) drew faces on all the oranges and bananas in the fruit bowl! I love the marshmallow idea, I'm definitely pinching that one.

First day they arrived in thier inflatable airplane, yesterday they were frying up some haribo Eggs and tonight they are super naughty, they have kidnapped dd l.o.l dolls and are blending them up in my milkshake blender and one is trying to chop and l.o.l head off 😂

Put them in the wheelie bin, they were probably made in a country that is rife with the new virus thing.

'Pooped' on my toothbrush. I used Vegemite but saw it with Nutella......

Mine have swapped the bedding to Christmas duvets while the kids are asleep tonight.

Ours was wearing a cosy onesie (a reindeer one bought from Morrison’s) watching Home Alone with snacks 😁

1st Dec - arrived in a paper airplane and ate my first advent choc
2nd - snow angels in mini marshmallows
3rd - had 9 marshmallows (3 x 3) on the floor and was playing noughts and crosses with the sylvanians. Luckily the marker pen hadn't leaked.

Plans for the next few days I hear he is planning a candy cane swing, toasting marshmallows over my candle, having a (choc drop) poo in DDs mug and getting the first aid kit out to practice on the teddies.

Random, but I like our Elf to interact with the other toys. It means during the year we can play, do you remember when Elf and x toy did y? During lockfown I forgot to out away the Elf door and it meant the Elf did a brief visit at valentines, Easter and birthday which was lovely.
Sorry no ideas, just waffling!

Mine had just finished 'elf isolating' and one is currently ransacking the dolls house while the other has left some chocolate sprouts in everyone's breakfast mug. One naughty, one nice.
