Has anyone ever brought one of these.

I thought it might be fun but would prefer to buy it from somewhere where it will benefit rather than some scam.
That may not exist?

We did the tree one, it was a nice novelty gift but we have never visited the tree so no idea. He enjoyed the idea though!

Highland titles is a bit of a scam. There was a big thing about it a few years back. You buy what they call a souvenir plot of land (except you don’t actually own it because it doesn’t go through land registry ) and the company say you then get the right to claim title of laird or whatever but it’s not a legal right.

As a bit of fun I guess it’s ok but it seems such a waste of Money when you could Print out a certificate and say anything you want on it for less.

Dunans Castle is the one I bought and it's the original 'laird title' company.

The castle burned down in the early 2000s and they sell titles to raise money to preserve and try and fix up the land and ruins (they already fixed the access bridge with money raised).

You get a free guided tour with a guest, a small plot in your name (you don't actually own the land as they don't transfer 1ft squares of the land but they will take you to your named plot on the tour), a certificate for your wall and rights of access to the land, the right to fish in the river and the right to wear the castle tartan.

It's not a 'scam' because anyone would have to be pretty stupid to believe they are actually buying a castle, legal title or plot of land for just £30 but it's for a good cause (preservation) and is about the same amount you pay for a tour of any castle in the UK.

In a similar vein my DH bought me a star, but I don 't suppose I shall ever visit it!

And I supposedly own an acre on the moon.
