Best galaxy projector

I’m looking for a galaxy projector for my daughter, but I’m just getting a bit overwhelmed with all the different types! Please can someone recommend a really good galaxy projector, that actually works and is realistic! Reviews seem to be very mixed and so do prices. I don’t mind spending a bit if it’s worth it. Thank you 😊

Following with interest.

I do really recommend this one (Science Kids) which is beautiful, and realistic, but it switches off after 30 min whereas we wanted something that lasted for longer.

We got 2 others last year. One was not very realistic - basically just a grid of evenly spaced dots. The other didn’t work for long.

We have the Blisslights one, lots of clips of it on YouTube.
Not sure of accuracy but looks brilliant, my teen daughter loves it.

Adifferentcorner · 25/11/2021 21:09

@LastStarFighter that looks lovely and very realistic, but I think my daughter is after a colourful one. She is 12 and it’s al about the aesthetics now, apparently 🙄. That’s what I wanted to avoid, the ones with dots in uniform rows, as they don’t look very good at all.

@RabbitFooFoo thank you. I’ll take a look

There was a really similar thread at the start of the week and a few people suggest the bliss lights one. It's also reduced a fair bit on Amazon atm

PinkDaydreams · 25/11/2021 21:25

I'm also looking for one, but with different colour lights. Son loves "rainbow colours" lights.

Mrsfussypants1 · 25/11/2021 22:04

2nd the Bliss lights. The blue light not the green one though.

I bought my DD this one last Christmas www.galaxyprojector.co.uk/ and it's so beautiful. I was nervous because it was expensive compared to some of the others but it's been really good, she uses it as a nightlight most nights and after a year it's still in perfect condition. I was just looking at the galaxy shining from her room last night and thinking what a worthwhile buy it was.

Can I ask does this switch off automatically please or can you set s timer?
Hexenhaus · 26/11/2021 12:45

@PinkDaydreams I'm not 100% sure as my DD uses it herself, but I think it's got a 30min, 1 hour and 2 hour timer and then the option to leave it on and switch it off manually when you choose. It's done through the remote so the buttons all look a bit complicated at first but she seemed to figure it out pretty fast.

Thank you for this! This seems like a good option then thank you

I have the Bliss Lights one and whilst it's nice I struggle to find a position for it where it projects well but also doesn't blind you if you happen to glance at the actual projector.

LastStarFighter · 26/11/2021 17:16

I’ve just ordered this dragon egg one.

It gets loads of really good reviews, and looks great in the many user videos.

I really like that it shields the eyes from the projector, which is kind of the problems we had with the last one.

We’ve had this one for over a year now, works brilliantly, can’t fault it.

I bought this one last Christmas, it’s still working. It’s very relaxing

I'm looking for one of these as well. I can't decide between the projector type and the dome shaped ones.

Adifferentcorner · 28/11/2021 15:16

Well I went for the bliss lights one! I was tempted by the galaxyprojector.co.uk one someone mentioned above, but it was double the price of the bliss lights one and like all the others had fairly mixed reviews, so will give the bliss lights one a go and see how we get on 😊
Thanks for all the recommendations!
