I’m looking for an Escape Room game to play on Christmas Day. We’ve never played one before so no idea what to look for really.
Ideally to last at least an hour or so and playable again if that’s possible- not sure if they are. Age group playing will be 8- 70. Id love to hear if anyone has tried and tested one?

I've done a couple of the "exit" ones and thought they were pretty good

Thanks @hedgehogger1, I’ll have a look of those, is that what they are called?

I actually wouldn't recommend the Exit games for this scenario. The cards are very small and hard to read, so not really suitable for an 8 year old or a 70 year old. They are not really suitable for a group of more than 4 people - only one challenge can be done at once so any more than that and you can't all see the card, so someone will just be sitting there waiting.

To be honest I don't think escape room games are suitable for a big group of varied ages, you'll struggle to find one. A murder mystery is much better but maybe not suitable for an 8YO.

Dd and I did a couple of Professor Puzzle ones in lockdown.
Escape from Grand Hotel https://www.whsmith.co.uk/products/professor-puzzle-escape-from-the-grand-hotel-escape-room-game/5056297201021.html
And there's also escape from starline express.
We really enjoyed them.
