I was looking for some inspiration for veggie Christmas dinner and I came across this. What he says in the first two paras is so lovely I wanted to share it:

In a similar vein dd1 had a nativity play. she goes to a C of E school (we're not C of E though) and at the end the headmistress said how proud she was that all the children had joined in - that it was a testament to the school and the parents that no-one, no matter what their faith, had withdrawn.
I told a friend this and she said "yep, that's the real test of tolerance".

ah yes! nice comments

We've got a bumper 'christmas' period this year, having moved to bosnia. There's eid al-adha next week with a little party at ds' nursery school and lots of socialising with neighbours and friends. Then christmas the week after with our own family celebrations. Then in january our orthodox serb neighbours have their christmas so even more lovely food with neighbours. And the great thing is nobody excludes anyone. It's just an excuse for a get-together around here. Sounds very happy clappy but it is a lovely time of year!
