Wrapping paper

Any lovely festive wrap you can recommend? M&S had a terrible selection. I don't want Disney themed either. Just nice wintery/Christmas themed paper.

I'm getting mine from the White Company this year, last year was not on the night street.

I've looked at m and s, John Lewis, paperchase etc and not been bowled over.

I'm seriously anal when it comes to my Christmas paper 😅

Lots of retailers have committed to cut down or stop making glitter, foiled and sparkle paper, that isn’t recyclable and is bad for microplastics pollution.

So wrap may seem a bit dull to the eyes this year, but maybe it’s good for us to get a bit back to basics with print wrap and Kraft, rather than the sparkly shiny wrapping paper we’ve become used to in recent years.

(I noticed too that this year they are all replacing plastic film wrap with paper stickers to reduce plastic waste which is great, too.)

IKEA have some nice ones if you have one close by .

MyShrivelledGnarlyFinger · 23/11/2021 13:31

I bought some fully recyclable paper from the RSPB and I'm very pleased with it.

KrakowDawn · 23/11/2021 13:33

I picked up a lovely roll with woodland animals on from Waitrose at the weekend. It's probably handmilled by artisans in Estonia from replenished forests or something Wink
But it was £3, no plastic, and I just liked the colour (a lovely dark green) Grin

mogschristmascalamity · 23/11/2021 16:49

@Bloodylovecheese

I bought a 50mtr roll of red kraft paper 2 years ago which I'll use again this year and tart up with ribbons and embellishments. It was about £15 and I reckon I've got another 2 years more to go Grin
Off topic but I massively over ordered ribbon trim for my wedding over 10 years ago. I still have about 10m left so its another year of finding wrapping paper to go with sage green ribbon Grin
ithoughtisawapuddycat · 23/11/2021 16:56

I got mine from Amazon and brought recyclable paper.
Most wrapping paper can't be recycled so please be aware of that.

Ohdoleavemealone · 23/11/2021 17:15

costco

RaoulDufysCat · 23/11/2021 19:47

We have brown paper and lots of stamps and ink to customise it. Will go to town on pretty ribbon etc.

Sciurus83 · 23/11/2021 19:51

Always RSPB! It's lovely, recyclable, and I like some money to go to charity. I'm glad to see others do the same, their cards are gorgeous too

Benjaminsniddlegrass · 23/11/2021 20:06

Got some lovely patterned Kraft ones from Oxfam online shop and then got plain Kraft paper and a few pens and stencils to decorate with. Have some nice festive string, I now prefer the brown parcel vibe with a little hit of colour.

IVFdreams2021 · 23/11/2021 20:17

Home bargains had some lovely paper

1Dandelion1 · 23/11/2021 23:14

I bought a 50m silver recyclable roll of paper last year, works for every occasion and can be dressed up with fancy wrapping techniques and ribbon.

ANP2020 · 23/11/2021 23:25

Next have some lovely paper and on 3 for 2.

Geamhradh · 24/11/2021 07:00

My favourites this year (and I get as much pleasure from buying wrapping paper and wrapping as I do the presents!) are from IKEA and Tiger.
The usual suspects have been rubbish- M&S, Paperchase just seem to have had the same designs for the last 10 years, John Lewis- never in stock.
I did get one roll from Liberty. Cost 5x as much as the others. It's no better quality.

Namealreadyinuse1 · 24/11/2021 08:44

Be wary of the JL paper. Whilst it’s great there is no film etc the tape that holds it together causes part of the paper to rip and peels off some of the pattern. And a heads up the cards are quite ‘thin’. I’d forgotten that from last year Hmm

Lovemusic33 · 24/11/2021 08:51

I stocked up when we visited IKEA in half term. Also love lidl paper as it usually has a grid in the back making cutting easier.

fabulousfrancesca · 24/11/2021 09:25

I got some green Kraft paper from Fred aldous and a couple of rolls of brown paper with little Christmas trees on from primark for the kids.

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 24/11/2021 09:33

Hard to find nice paper this year. I like Christmassy colours - plenty of green and red etc., and I don’t want sodding Percy Pig thanks, M&S.
Found some nice paper in the Oxfam shop, green background with the 12 days of Christmas - a partridge in a pear tree, five gold rings, etc. That’s for adults, easier to find for children.

SimpsonsXmasBoogie · 24/11/2021 09:37

I don't want Disney themed either.

Why the hell is everything Disney/Star Wars themed now? It's so irritating. I have nothing against Disney but I'm not interested and neither are any of my gift recipients. It seems to be everywhere.

1moreglassplease · 24/11/2021 13:46

OP, I agree with you re M&S. I normally buy some from there but it is rubbish this year. Next have some nice rolls this year but I found some pretty ones at Waterstones so they're worth looking at too.

Bloodylovecheese · 24/11/2021 22:09

I'm still using up my wedding ribbon too!!

Timeisavirtue · 24/11/2021 22:41

So far the best wrapping paper I’ve had came from tesco... a lovelY reindeer and robin one, very good quality.

Excited101 · 03/12/2021 13:01

I got some from the co-op yesterday, don’t bother! It tore straight away, total waste of money 🤦‍♀️
