What do I buy a baby girl? I am a completely clueless non parent! Up to £30. Her parents are the type to say "nothing, don't worry!"

Thank you

If you want something she can play with imminently, maybe those Lamaze toys with different textures on, or a pat mat.

If you want something that she might be interested in in a few months time then perhaps a highchair toy, teethers or sensory balls.

Alternatively a "my first Christmas" type keepsake or some clothes in 6-12 months.

Coveralls because she will be weaning soon?

negomi90 · 20/11/2021 14:06

clothes/ something her parents would like more than her - kitchen gadget to make baby food/amazon voucher/ streaming subscription

LakeShoreD · 20/11/2021 14:12

I’d go with a book and write a nice message on the inside to commemorate the fact that it’s her first Christmas. If you want to spend a bit more than also get an outfit in size 6-12 months.

A sensory box could be well received - I got one for my 6 month old and we love it. Not sure where it was bought from but it’s similar to this

Agree with this. Weaning stuff will actually be useful and 3 months is far enough away that they won’t have loads of stuff already.

Clothes or something like a light projector for when she goes into her own room

A star fleece wrap is perfect for the winter and much easier than a pram suit!

I would've loved one as a gift!

Champagne for the parents to toast getting through 3 months and having their first Christmas with baby.

EdithGrantham · 20/11/2021 14:38

I'm doing a baby sensory class with my DD which is £36 for the block of sessions so maybe pay for something like that for them?

pompomsgalore · 20/11/2021 14:40

Sophie giraffe. The baby will love that at 4 months.

Or a tummy time water mat. Everyone wants help with getting through all the tummy time encouragement that the hv's constantly say.

Or they arts and crafty parents? A tuff tray is all the rage. Not sure of their prices and would depend if they had the room or brain space to use it going forward.

DCINightingale · 20/11/2021 14:47

The weaning coveralls is a great suggestion. Something practical that the parents can use, as baby wont give a toss at 3 months. 6-9 month clothes too may be an idea.

A bath toy or bath book could be another reasonable one, my baby loves bath books and you can get some really cool colour changing ones when they get wet.

Thank you everyone, I knew I'd be in safe hands asking this on MN 😊

Activity blocks. She'll be sitting up in no time and that's a good first toy.

As a parent of a 3 month old, I also think this is a great idea! 🥂🍾
