We're getting outdoor lights for the first time this year!!!

Unfortunately I, ahem, am suffering from too much choice. I need help with 2 things:

  1. Bright white or warm white for around the roofline (leaning towards bright, but I just don't know....!). It's probably a lifelong commitment and I do want to be sure.

  2. Precisely how many light up penguins are too many...?

We have warm white lights, an ice white reindeer and multi coloured lights in the hedge. Oh and I've just bought some candy canes. Who cares about classy? It's christmas. IMO, as long as you don't have an inflatable 10ft Snowman and an anamatronic santa climbing up a ladder then you're good!

I agree that you can mix but disagree about mixing everything together.

Warm by itself = lovely
Warm mixed with colour = very lovely

Ice white by itself = only ok
Ice white mixed with colour = ok too

Mixing warm white and ice white = not as nice as all warm white

Blue white = hideous

Mixing everything = too much

That’s just my opinion though, and I’m not saying that in a snooty ‘everything should look perfect for Christmas’ voice white my nose pinched, it’s that the blue white light actually hurt my eyes, and the ice white veering towards blue are the same. I went into a shop with blue lights once and felt nauseous.

Please feel free to ignore all of the above, there is an exception to the blue lights and they are the old fashioned blue lights, (it’s an old style light and not the ambulance blue) they don’t make me feel sick.

Happy Christmas Grin
