Small bits for colleagues

Suprima · 17/11/2021 20:37

Want to spend £10-15 on my immediate colleagues!

Women in their twenties/early thirties who are appreciative of booze and stereotypical trappings of femininity (beauty bits, bath stuff)

Has anyone bought any nice token gifts?

I was thinking a molten brown bauble if they are doing them this year

OP posts:
jocktamsonsbairn · 19/11/2021 00:40

I would love a moulton brown bauble too - it's def something I wouldn't buy myself!
Also yes to most of the other suggestions on here.
Fir my friends so far this year I have used the deals on here to get a Lancôme mascara with gift set, Celtic and co lambs wool gloves, a wine and cheese mini hamper. Still to get some presents so hoping I get more inspiration!

BloodyAlarms · 19/11/2021 00:59

I did the molton brown crackers last year for my staff (22). We had a particularly awful year with the death of a very much-loved colleague and Covid (front line staff).. they would have loved the baubles too !!

Angrywife · 28/11/2021 17:46

Shower melts from etsy

BlueTuesday20 · 28/11/2021 18:17

There's 20% off The White Company until tomorrow. I love the spa hand-wash. The mini pomanders are cute, so are hand sanitiser holsters. All under £20 normally so are in the £15 mark for the time being. Not a fan of Molton Brown myself, but I'd give unwanted gifts to a charity, not bin them, and be grateful to be thought of enough to be given a gift.

NovemberNovemberDarkNights · 28/11/2021 18:45

@Bananaman123

I would love a molton brown bauble! Any alcohol or chocs would go in the bin.

My managers for many years knew I didn't drink but still gave me alcohol at christmas, really passed me off, I'd rather get nothing

Why in the bin? Do you not have friends, family, neighbours??
thisplaceisweird · 28/11/2021 18:46

A lovely mug e.g. from Anthropologie and a Costa voucher (its what I'm doing for secret Santa!)

BlueTuesday20 · 28/11/2021 19:01

The Costa voucher and mug is a good idea. Anthropologie have 25% off some stuff today. Not sure how long that offer lasts.

Inexpertjuggler · 28/11/2021 19:04

I love l’occitane hand cream. They sometimes do a little pouch with a selection of small tubes in, around Christmas. They’re great for keeping in handbag or desk drawer, they come with lovely wrapping and samples, and everyone is washing hands and using hand gel so much nowadays.

BlueYazoo · 28/11/2021 19:08

A really nice recipe book - we’ve just bought a vegan one for a colleague and DFS recipes are fab

Lush cream/candle

A bag of mixed lindor

A kindle voucher

Hotel chocolat hot chocolate selection

BlueYazoo · 28/11/2021 19:08

Not sure where DFS came from!! *The

Watching thread

Only my colleagues aren't big drinkers and I know mn is not that keen on Baylis & Harding, but thinking something like that.

AuntieStella · 28/11/2021 19:12

Posh coffee and really good olive oil (the recherche single estate kind, not the ponced up with flavourings kind)

SockFluffInTheBath · 28/11/2021 19:20

The L’Occitane baubles are about £12 each. But tbh anything identikit (same theme for a bunch of people) is always a bit naff. You say you know them, so I’d go for what each individual would like most.

Onlyabean · 28/11/2021 19:24

The Nuxe festive cracker with 4 items inside for £11.50 is a good choice.

Onlyabean · 28/11/2021 19:26

Oh and Liberty do beauty crackers for £14 and you can choose which one suits your friend.

caringcarer · 28/11/2021 19:31

Costa voucher would be my favourite.

MakkaPakkas · 28/11/2021 19:41

When I was in my 20s and skint I loved vouchers for places I usually couldn't afford, so the coffee voucher sounds like a good idea to me - treat coffee and breakfast on the way to work - will cheer them up in the week before payday

BlueTuesday20 · 28/11/2021 20:13

Baylis and Harding do an organic range which is really nice. Not pretending pretending to be Molton Brown either which is why I don't like it.

I would be delighted with a bottle of fizz. I think you can make a big difference if you package it nicely. If I am given red wine, which I don't normally drink, I save it for visitors.

I hope uour colleagues/friends appreciate your gifts and even just time thinking of them. You could also ask them individually what one or the other would like/dislike. Happy Christmas!

NeedAHoliday2021 · 28/11/2021 21:41

Why are so many people saying they would throw out alcohol or chocolates? Just regift them or donate to a raffle for charity. Pouring £20 worth of gin down a sink because you personally don’t like it is weird IMO.

HewasH2O · 28/11/2021 21:59

Because they want to suck all the joy out of someone trying to do something nice. However, they have probably done all their own Christmas shopping on Amazon so they can get a bargain, will criticise their MiL for failing to observe their wrapping paper theme and will secretly gorge themselves on a tub of Celebrations and cold pigs in blankets whilst telling everyone that they have turned vegan.

Mirw · 29/11/2021 14:51

Every year we do Secret Santa and every year, I say No. I don't want to buy crap for a colleague and don't want crap back. I really don't do Xmas. No cards, no tree, no decorations, no presents. I do cook a turkey as everyone likes it but it is not an everyday meat in our house. I don't do Xmas because I am not religious.

Allsorts1 · 29/11/2021 15:05

I feel like candles are nicer and I love receiving candles - I don’t like getting crazy scented toiletries and will literally just get thrush instantaneously 😂

3 ghosts will be visiting you soon!!
RaisinFlapjack · 29/11/2021 16:18

What’s wrong with people? You wouldn’t go onto a thread asking for present ideas for a person who loves gardening saying “No use for me I don’t have garden / am allergic to plants / hate nature”.

OP - I think this Nuxe gift set is rather nice and good value at £10
