My 10 year old is now obsessed with horse riding & for Xmas wants a few matchy matchy sets! Any recommendations please? She wants a Le Mieux set which I'm happy to get one but they are quite costly!!

So funny how things have changed since my day - i did all the pony stuff and never even had jodphurs, just riding hat & boots, my DD is just getting into the pony world and this thread is eye opening that it might be more expensive than it used to be!

What about tickets to a horse event like badminton or horse of the year show? Plenty of shopping for you both to have fun at there as well!

Just on le mieux, it’s fab stuff but they phase introduce new colours all the time and stop doing old ones. So if you do want matching stuff (go for it!) get it all in one go and don’t be caught out like us trying to buy the hat silk later on only to find they don’t do it anymore (which pushes the prices up elsewhere!)

My 15yo DD has loads of Lemieux matchy sets and it is the go to present for family to get her for birthdays and Christmas as the different components can be bought separately. I know they're costly but the resale value is often equal to or even more in some cases if the colour has been discontinued!

The good thing is that you can tell family what to get
We are getting numnah, top and jacket
Granny abd grandad are getting new hat and a matchy silk
Aunty is getting jodhpurs boots
Uncle is getting new jobs

Thank you all! Loan pony is the next step with the possibility of one in new year! Sooo I think I'm going to get one Le Mieux set, base layer, jodhpurs, hat silk & saddle pad
Then I'll get one cheaper set, you ladies have been fab & lots of websites here for me to choose from
