Naming a Star for my hubby

I am thinking of naming a star for my hubby as a personal Christmas present, I told a work colleague about the idea and she laughed and said its not the sort of gift to give a man. Am I being daft by listening to her, or should I just buy it anyway? Help any advice would be great

It’s naff and a scam. If you like you can give me £50 and I’ll print you a certificate saying I agree to call a random, not-visible-without-a-huge-telescope star whatever you want. I’ll write it in a little notebook that only I ever see. That’s just as ‘official’ as that company because it’s exactly what they do.

How can you name a star after somebody if you don't actually own the star? Hmm

It’s along the same lines as the gifts to call yourself a Scottish “laird” by buying 2 blades of grass in the Highlands.

I would be very disappointed if this turned out to be my Christmas present from dh .thankfully he would never do that.

@Wellshellsbells

What about a blowjob? I’m sure any man would prefer it to a star named after him !
Just checked with dh, he was clearly trying to tread carefully so as not to hurt my feelings and said the star was a nice idea but does really enjoy blowjobs Grin once I explained this was for Mumsnet and there was no real blowjob on the cards he confirmed definitely it was the winner. Now he's a bit sad that the blowjob I mentioned was as fictional as the named star certificates

Make him a gift voucher for a blow job

As shit presents go no pun intended but that up there .

I'd rather have the cash. This is my thought about all of these 'non-gift' type things, especially ones that are promising the impossible.

It isn't going to make him feel romantic to read a note about something that has definitely not been named after him.

It would ONLY be a decent present if it was a jokey piss take stocking filler present
