Hi , I’m looking for a good quality pre lit Christmas tree
Any recommendations please
I’ve looked in home base but so expensive the one I liked in there last year was £180 it’s £265 this year 🙈

What size do you want? Obviously the taller the dearer.

GuyFawkesDay · 06/11/2021 22:54

Blimey they have gone up! I paid £45 for one from homebase I think 4/5 years ago and it's now £130!

Trixiebell06 · 07/11/2021 08:16

They are all very expensive & don’t even look nice very sparse . I’m looking for a pre lit 7ft
I’d rather see it than order online as they always look great in photos but not in reality

Try a garden centre

If you do end up spending 250 on tree, Balsam Hill are realistic and actually decent quality, as are The National Tree Company trees.

Don't spend 250 on a sparse, sad looking plastic tree from Homebase or Argos!

Not everyone agrees that Balsam Hill is a good choice. There is a Facebook site dedicated to Balsam Hill Complaints.

Try Christmas Tree World for excellent realistic trees, more affordable than BH, and lovely people to deal with.

Balsam Hill import their trees from the EU. Loads of delivery issues due to then not having a robust import procedure in place.

Floralnomad · 07/11/2021 14:25

I’m very happy with my 2 Balsam Hill trees , ones a 7’ pre lit Fraser and the other is a smaller pre lit . They are better than any I’ve seen in JL or garden centres .

Trixiebell06 · 07/11/2021 14:38

I worry about trees online sometimes they look
Totally different in reality there was a pic on here somewhere that advertised a pic of a tree Bushey but when the lady received it she couldn’t believe how sparse it was

I got a lovely one from b &m last year for £100(had been more but was last one).
Its actually better than the balsam hill one I have in the living room. It is flocked though and leaves a bit of a mess but its very very full.

Trixiebell06 · 07/11/2021 15:13

That’s what I’m looking for boobot1 , trees are so expensive but the ones I’ve seen look terrible ,
my dd and I laughed last year putting our old one up it was on its last legs falling apart it only looked good in
The dark with the lights on 🤣

We are looking at a fake tree this year. I'm a bit worried about the pre lit ones though, what happens if a bulb goes?

Trixiebell06 · 07/11/2021 15:19

We’ve been so lucky over the years always bought prelit and never had a bulb blow .
The trees have lasted years , I just want to get a better bigger one this year

Kaemingk Everlands are lovely quality, but not quite as pricey as Balsam Hill. They are often in good garden centres, but usually cheaper online.
