Looking to buy a soda stream as a Christmas gift but bit baffled as to which to chose. Does anyone have any advice?

I don't but I'm interested in buying one also so placemarking

Hi, I have the one touch spirit sodastream, and have loved it for a few years. Saved so much single use plastic with taking fizzy water to work every day.
Worth buying a bottle (my only bottle) that goes in the dishwasher too as their standard bottles don't - they melt as I found out when a helpful teen loaded the dishwasher.
I also get the refill canisters (12 over the year) and so that adds to the price.

On the downside sodastream customer service is pretty rubbish. When mine started leaking I waited a month to be told to take a video of what was going wrong, then waiting another few weeks to be told to send it back to them. They automatically accused me of mis use, but in the end they replaced it free of charge. I wonder if the non-electric one might have fewer problems and so when this machine breaks I'll go with the cheaper one. It's a shame there is no competition in this market as sodastream themselves are dire but i love my fizzy water!

I have one but if I was getting a new one I'd get the glass carafe bottle .
Much nicer , you can put it on the table and it goes in the dishwasher
Plastic bottles are a bit fugly , hanfwash and have a limited time use (so less environmently friendly)
We buy the 500ml bottles , the fizz does go quicker than a commercial fizzy drink so a litre is a waste .
Mainly we use for sparkling water .

This on Amazon ?

If your budget can stretch to it I’ve just switched to an aarke and it’s a thing of beauty

We have an Aarke, love it and it works so well. You can only do water though but we mix it with proper juice to have flavoured drinks.

Looks great, slim, no plastic and still going strong after nearly 4 years.
