What do you put on top of your tree?

I've never been able to find anything I like so it's been topper less the last few years so looking for inspiration!

We always have a real tree which I think sometimes restricts a bit as they can't always cope with something too heavy. No colour scheme, I like lots of colours and coloured lights so I just put stuff I like on it. IMO it looks fab but I do think it misses a topper. I don't think I'd want a fairy but I'm open minded!

I've no idea if there's an actual doll, but wouldn't that be great!?

There is a Christmas tree fairy doll. I have one. Might put her on the tree this year!

We have a medium tree and a small tree, each are topped with a hands-crafted and hand-coloured paper angel done by my DC when they were very young. I will admit to colouring them in properly after they had gone to bed and adding half a paper doily to each for wings. They are put away lovingly in a shoebox to keep them safe for next Christmas.

Before children I had a beautiful handmade angel made by a friend of my Mum’s 25+ years ago (actually I have 2 as I inherited Mum’s too, so I have one in white and silver and the other is white and gold).

Now I have 2 angels, made by my angels when they were in Reception, and we alternate which one is the topper - and can never remember who’s turn it is!!

Love all these! Qe have a standard star that i must have bought the first year we moved out but it doesn't have any special significance. Maybe I'll get DD and DH to go and choose something new this year

There was a similar thread last month, and one poster said a snowy owl soft toy. I am going to copy that this year, if DS let's me borrow his Little Owl.

We usually do a dinosaur hand puppet, for reasons I can't remember.

This is the one I bought from Georg Jensen this year in the sale. It was expensive, I can’t deny that, but it’s going to be used every year from now on.

You can usually find beautiful vintage tree topper angels on eBay.
