My 9 year old daughter has no idea what she would like for Christmas. Brought her to Smyths but didnt take much interest in anything specific.
She has older sisters and I guess she has had a lot of hand me down toys which rules out some things.
What are your 9 year old girls getting?

My 10 year old is equally as unhelpful. She is getting roller skates but has no other ideas so watching with interest.

WhatonEarth1 · 31/10/2021 09:23

Kumi Kreator
Popcorn machine
Giant beanbag

CoffeeChocolateWine · 31/10/2021 10:02

My 9yo hasn’t really asked for a ‘main’ present…more smaller bits and pieces. So far I’ve bought her a Lego Friends magical set that she’s asked for, a hair styling head and a Hype rucksack.

Then she’s asked for lots of craft/creative stuff like a knitting kit, friendship bracelet kit, hairband kit, soap making kit. She love gemstones so I make get her a gemstone dig or geode kit. She’s getting an ice cream maker from her grandparents and the Horrible Histories board game from her aunt and uncle. And probably lots of books!

At 9 we got dd an instax camera and accessories kit which she loved, along with those little peg string lights to hang some photos in her room.

What are her interests/hobbies?

Tailrunner · 31/10/2021 11:51

My 9 year old has just asked for a Nintendo Wii. I have 2 DDs and they've never been interested in video games or consoles so I'm not sure where this idea came from but I think I can find a cheap bundle so that's her sorted. I was worried she was going to ask for a switch which is more expensive so I'm glad she went for a Wii instead.

Otherwise it was going to be a new bike as hers is getting small but she didn't seem very excited about the idea.

I have two 9 year old girls, their main present will be roller skates as they have out grown theirs.
They have everything a child could possible want so this Christmas I’m spending far less than before.

Hotdayinjuly · 31/10/2021 16:10

My DD is nearly 8 the Kumi Kreator looks like it would be a hit, thanks!

Terminallysleepdeprived · 31/10/2021 16:15

My dd with be coming up 8.5 at Christmas and for the first year ever we haven't had an ever increasing Christmas list from her that starts in September.

My parents are renewing our annual passes passes a local attraction that we use at least once a month.

I have paid for Harry potter World tickets so that will be her main gift from me

Her dad is taking her to the LOL live tour

After that few clothes, maybe some lego but no other ideas yet

Got my daughter some for her birthday from Proline skates who have got 10% off if you send over £40 and free delivery - can return them up to 60 days if size not right.

9yo Dd wants a switch, she’s been asking for a couple of years. Other presents we’ve got are fake oodie, lots of Harry Potter bits, pens, notebooks, toiletries.

Something she came up with the other day when I asked if there was anything specific she wanted of her grandparents was wireless headphones. She found a nice pair of rose gold ones she liked on Amazon. In the frequently bought together option was matching smart watch and air pods. She also found a tshirt she liked online and a backpack, not a school one, it quite surprised me as I wouldn’t have chosen it as her style. Maybe get her to look at ideas online, my dd searched ideas for a 9 yo girl but found them quite young a girly, she eventually found stuff she liked looking at gift ideas for an 11yo girl.

She got a hoverboard with go kart attachment for her birthday and has spent a lot of time mastering roller blades this year. She also bought herself a skateboard.

Other ideas she’s uummedd and arreeddd about this year are DJ set and drum kit, nit a chance on the drum kit but I’d have happily got the DJ set with headphones obviously.

Hair styling head. My DD got 1 of these. Its a proper hairdressing 1, not kids play one and she has got lot of use out of it. I have played with it too!!! Thank you.

Thanks. She isnt really into anything. Her sisters always collected things or were interested things as for this little girl she just like poking at bits and pieces so thinking of a number of different things.

Thanks. DD and sisters have switch which they glued to so trying to steer away from the technology. And yes agree its all expensive. As for bikes, i found its reasonable easy to sell on bikes when kept in good condition so at least if not used too much u might get something back.

Great ideas, thank you. There are a few things im trying to stay away from as I dont want her older sister taking over her things. As for the drum kit, I might forget to suggest that one 😜!! I was wondering bout keyboard, she has headphones, maybe connect to that.
