Non alcoholic drinks

We have (young) tee totalers coming and I want some nice drinks to offer other than Schloer. Any ideas? I'd also love to do a non alcoholic punch type thing if anyone has a tried and tested recipe?

Kombucha, Big Tom or Virgin Bloody Mary and this punch www.olivemagazine.com/drink/orange-and-rosemary-fizz/

My ds (and me when driving) enjoy mulled apple juice. We use the mulled wine spices and add slices of apple and orange etc. One year we bought some ready made but can't remember where from.

Charliebradbury · 25/10/2021 16:07

I second the mulled apple juice, we made some last year and it was so nice. Kids loved it as well.

rbe78 · 25/10/2021 16:19

Belovoir do a nice mulled punch (like non-alcoholic mulled wine), as do Lidl.

Christmas1988 · 25/10/2021 16:27

I don’t drink and I don’t like the artificial wines or schloer they are a too rich and sweet to have with a meal I’d make sure you have Coca-Cola in or lemonade.

TheLovleyChebbyMcGee · 25/10/2021 16:35

Mulled apple 'cider' North American style is amazing, I also like san pelegrino, well, the Aldi version, lime and mint, is refreshing. Or some fancy cordial ice and soda!

lorisparkle · 25/10/2021 18:02

@rbe78 thanks for the reminder - I managed to get the last bottle in Lidl last year and never saw it again so will look out early this year!

CottageOnTheHill · 25/10/2021 18:09

Raspberry kombucha is really nice. Elderflower cordial in soda water is lovely too. I bought a lot of lovely non alcoholic drinks in for last year and most of the tee totallers asked for either tap water or a Diet Coke as they found the drinks I had too sweet.

Carrie76 · 25/10/2021 19:30

I’m a non drinker and like Elderflower cordial or San Pellegrino blood orange or lemon. I have no interest in trying to make alcoholic drinks non alcoholic like cocktails or punch! Maybe that’s just me tho

Carrie76 · 25/10/2021 19:31

As cottageonthehill said most of the others are way too sweet to drink much of. I usually drink water!

Cantstopthewaves · 25/10/2021 19:34

I'm happy with Roses lime and sparkling water. Also like the odd Appletiser.

candycane222 · 25/10/2021 19:37

I actaully really like neat tonic water, find it very refreshing and not as sweet as the fruitier soft drinks.

ShowOfHands · 25/10/2021 19:40

Ask them!

I'm teetotal and wouldn't drink half the stuff suggested on here.

Fellrunner85 · 25/10/2021 19:46

I'm also teetotal and wouldn't drink half the stuff on here. Just ask them...?

I wouldn't drink coke or lemonade, and nor would I drink really sweet mocktails.

With a meal I like sparkling water or tonic water (esp the Fever Tree flavoured ones). At Christmas I like a good non alcoholic prosecco (the M&S Fizzero is good) and also good quality non alcoholic beers (Big Drop; Punk AF, Infinite Session etc are all decent)

I saw an advert for non alcoholic pink gin last night.

Looks great but I'm total total tee total and it contain 0.5 %

That with some raspberries and ice would be lovely

Cuck00soup · 25/10/2021 19:54

Mulled Apple juice is very very sweet. I remember trying it when I was pregnant. The first few sips were lovely, but I couldn't drink more than half a glass.

fallhappy1 · 25/10/2021 19:57

I love elderflower cordial with tonic water. It's gorgeous 😍

Try adding water, or soda water, it makes it less cloying!

BessieWallisWarfield · 25/10/2021 20:12

This is in the 'more money than sense' price bracket. But I'd love to know what it's like, if anybody would like to try it and report back!

My SIL always buys this at Christmas and it's pretty nice but bloody hell it's beyond my price range.

I'm glad we posted pretty much exactly the same thing because I agree, I wouldn't touch coke, lemonade or mocktails but then I wouldn't drink any of the other stuff you list either!

This 1/2 cranberry juice 1/2 ginger ale mocktail is nice & festive www.shugarysweets.com/cranberry-ginger-ale-punch/

FlibbertyGiblets · 25/10/2021 21:14

We make a hot wassail I think orig recipe was in the Kenwood chef book? Anyway
500 ml apple juice
250 ml orange juice
250 ml cranberry juice drink
3 tablespoons of lemon juice
One quarter teaspoon each of:
Ground cinnamon
Ground ginger
Ground nutmeg
Ground cloves
Heat gently in a large saucepan, don't boil it.
Scales up and down okay.

That sounds very tasty!

Popped on to say OP my go to drink is non alcoholic ginger beer with a dash of lime juice (the fever-tree ginger beer is delish!)

St Clements too - fresh orange and bitter lemon

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 25/10/2021 21:49

Fentimans ginger beer and Roses lime cordial ( I buy the small bottles of ginger beer , the big ones go flat before I finish them)

Soda water and Roses lime

Clementine juice

PomWonderful

I don't like soft drinks and I don't drink alcohol so not interested in alcohol free gin or wine

I have bought a bottle of MerryBerry Mulled Punch that I'll warm with orange slices and marischino cherries . It might be rank though ?
