Tablet for 9 year old

Ipads a bit much

Im thinking about the amazon fire 10, is that any good?

Or are there others that are good?

I'd look at Samsungs and Lenovo too.

If you are an android family it makes sense to me to have an android tablet.

My DS got the kindle fire 10 for his 10th birthday, very happy with it. If I had the cash I would have got an iPad as it’s easier to monitor

We have a kindle and an iPad and I think the iPad being so expensive does genuinely reflect how much better it is than the kindle.
I don't find the kindle user friendly, especially for kids and the iPad screen time/restrictions etc are so worth it. I'd look at a second hand ipad with a new case, my 9 year old wouldn't have noticed it wasn't new.

We got a Samsung galaxy tab A last year and so far its been fab, you can download family link to monitor usage and apps. No complaints from us
