Present Idea for Cleaner

Hi

Any ideas what I can get my cleaner. Wanted to get something other than the generic wine/candles/cookbooks. She basically works and looks after her family.

What's the budget?

RiverSkater · 24/10/2021 22:08

Some really nice soap and hand cream?

PennyWus · 24/10/2021 22:21

For my invaluable, incredible cleaner i usually got a nice bottle of wine or Baileys (check she is a drinker first), box of Hotel Chocolat, and then gave her an extra week's pay.

HanSB · 24/10/2021 22:31

I give 2 weeks in cash as a thank you bonus and some nice chocolates. I think the extra cash is much appreciated

Peridot1 · 24/10/2021 22:33

Cash and some wine.

PeterPomegranate · 24/10/2021 22:35

I give 2 weeks cash and chocolates. If it was me I’d want the cash.

Fallagain · 24/10/2021 22:36

Cash.

mynameiscalypso · 24/10/2021 22:37

Cash here too. Maybe a token present like a nice box of biscuits but I'd want cash if it was me.

Hotcuppatea · 24/10/2021 22:38

Cash and chocolates.

Cleaner here,
I gratefully receive mostly wine, a couple give me vouchers, one gifts Jo Malone stuff, last year one paid double and a gift. I'd say the vouchers are the most welcome. As an aside, my "richest" client gives me nothing as well as cancelling over Christmas! But I'm not bitter honest!

Hetyanni · 25/10/2021 08:16

Extra 2 weeks pay in a card expressing appreciation and a nice box of biscuits

tadpole73 · 25/10/2021 09:58

Thanks everyone. Cash is obviously acceptable these days and a small gift

We give a £50 M&S voucher. I know she uses it to buy dinner and champagne for Hogmanay every year.

TeeBee · 25/10/2021 13:38

I usually give Jo Malone goodies to mine. Looking for new ideas this year.

She might really enjoy receiving them. I just got the school teachers a JM cracker each.
MeredithMae · 25/10/2021 14:29

Box of Hotel Chocolat and £100 cash from us! :)

viques · 25/10/2021 14:32

I love these threads, the amounts gradually get bigger and bigger until the recipient is gifted two weeks all inclusive in the Maldives and a gold Amex card.

RockingMyFiftiesNot · 25/10/2021 15:25

I think you need to know your cleaner pretty well to know whether they'd appreciate Jo Malone as a luxurious treat, or whether they would prefer the equivalent amount of cash to make their Christmas/NYE more special.

I know someone who cleans because she enjoys it, works only for a few people, doesn't really need the money. Another I know is really strapped for cash as several clients suspended her services when they were working from home, and is wondering how she is going to make Christmas happen this year for her little boy. I doubt she would appreciate an expensive luxury.

TeeBee · 25/10/2021 16:51

Yeah, I've always gone along the lines of getting her something luxurious that she probably wouldn't justify buying herself. And as I travel a lot, can pick loads up from duty free for her and my sisters. However, just thought she might be bored of it by now so I'm collecting all your ideas.

Piccalino3 · 25/10/2021 17:00

We give our cleaner a bottle of champagne and cash - I can't remember how much, either a weeks wages or £100.
