I usually spend fairly generously at Christmas but this year I'm on mat leave and trying to keep costs down.

I will simply not bother with some people but there are some I do want to give something to but not useless tat

Ideas

A nice box of biscuits for some family members rather than biscuits and chocolates and something else like a candle or nice toiletries

Am I making sense?

Any ideas?

I don't really do homemade, before anyone says it!!

Books are the go to in my family, my dad has an rhs book which was reduced by £12 on amazon, my grandson has ripley's believe it or not which was half price in the works.

The coffee is a nice idea

I have the Charbonnel chocs so it would be something to go with that for the adults

I like the idea of the hot choc and / or the coffee for the teens

I live books but I think only one of said relatives reads - they are hard to but for as they don't like anything Grin

My sisters and I buy food and drink pressies for our families. I’m buying them a selection of chutneys and jams this year (from our local farmers market). I’ve hinted to one sister that I would love a pannetone.

I gave adults some scratch cards last year in little bundles with a lottery ticket. I was thanked profusely and everyone really enjoyed the gift.
Also handmade food, cakes, Baileys, and Wilkins Gin was also appreciated another year.

In early November every year M&S and Waitrose both tend to reduce their fancy biscuit boxes from £4 to £2.50 I jump on this every year and buy 8-10 boxes to send out to the extended family as token gifts.

I figure everyone likes a nice box of biscuits, they’ll never go to waste.

@JetRocket

How would I know when M&S on offer? Would they be on offer online too? No Waitrose near me unfortunately. I was disappointed when Ocado switched to M&S!

We have Ocado shops delivered but think their offers are different to direct M&S

Biscuits would go well with the champagne truffles

I've bought my kids class teachers the m&s light up tea House with tea bags for £4. Most people enjoy a cuppa & the tin makes a nice ornament for the window.

For my family teens, I've bought £10 Nandos, costa & cinema vouchers.
