Christmas Tree .. where does yours go?

Because for the past few years we've happily put ours in the dining room/toy room(back of house) .. it looks pretty there .. but mainly we see it in passing or when kids are playing in there ... also has wooden floors so easy to sweep up leaves .. and this year we're having christmas dinner here so would be nice to have tree whilst we eat

Friends are telling me we should have it in the living room where TV is (front of house) and where we spend most time .. to be fair we do have a victorian bay window that is almost built for a christmas tree BUT I'd have to wrestle to get the curtains closed and we normally have a 6 - 8 footer which tend to be quite wide

Is it really odd to have it in other room than main living room?

Have 2 .

We have a normal sized one (?six footer), in the sitting room. Decorated by me and 'sophisticated' , and we have a little tree in the girls play room/the dining room that is all coloured lights and garish stuff.

Oh and get a thin one for your bay. I love walking past victorian bay windowed houses and seeing their trees in pride of place, but I'm sure you can buy slim line trees that you can draw the curtains with ease behind.

yoo hoo slubbers!
I have two also, our first 'real' tree since the DC came along, and i have completely rearranged the living/dining room to accommodate its gsix foot splendour; and the family heirloom fake in the front room window, which we barely use, but will probably send the oldies in there over christmas.

I have 3 (sort of!)
My 6ft is in the living room, Ds' 3ft is in his room (also 'tastefully' decorated by him) and a little 2 ft fr tree outside that Ds is demanding to have decorated!

PersonalChristmasElf · 10/12/2007 17:59

That's fir tree. Ds is trying to press keys here.

PestohohohoMonster · 10/12/2007 18:49

Ours goes in our hall, near the foot of the stairs.

Curmudgeonlett · 10/12/2007 18:51

oh and the radiator is in the bay so it would have to be offset to one side, I assume the heat from the radiator would not be healthy for a tree

PestohohohoMonster · 10/12/2007 18:52

We always turn off the radiator nearest the tree.

Curmudgeonlett · 10/12/2007 18:53

that settles it .. no way am I turning off the only radiator in this room .. dining room it is
