My ds will be 8 months at Christmas, I know he won't remember anything but I would like ideas for meaningful gifts and keepsakes and toys he can play with and grow to play within the next year, ive already got him quiet a few toys for Christmas that he can play with for the age he will be then

A wooden trolley with blocks in. Then he can play with the blocks now and in a few months time he can push along the trolley... and as he gets older put dolly in the trolley etc...

Keepsakes:
Jellycat reindeer/polar bear/elf
The Night Before Christmas book
Christmas mug or dinner set (I saw a really nice children’s Christmas dining set recently which included cutlery as well but I can’t remember where which is really annoying me!)
Night light www.notonthehighstreet.com/kirstyshaw/product/personalised-star-night-light?referredBy=search
Money box - DS has a cute Peter Rabbit one.

Toys he can play with next year:
Wooden car click clack track
Pull along train
Vtech ball pop digger
Sand pit

I've got a dc who will be 6 months old by Christmas

I've so far got him

  • blanket, swaddles and muslins from aden + anais (I find their stuff quite pricey but seemed justified for Christmas!)
  • a little Christmas board book with his name on (the kind you buy like that not personalised)

I like the personalised farmhouse toy on my first years

Toy phone

I've got stacking cups for my rabbits so feels weird to buy them for the baby!

I will also have an 8 month old at Xmas so thanks for this thread, lots of ideas.

I've so far bought my DS the Tomy eggs and a few books. If you want a lot of books I recently bought 10x Julia Donaldson books for around £17 on Amazon (also at Costco) so worth a search for that.

I also intend to buy a Walker and some stacking cups. For his stocking a rainmaker toy, some socks and some treat baby food - you can get things like baby biscotti in supermarkets that are ok for 7 months plus.

Keepsake wise - a personalised bauble with your child's name on? I only bought a cheap one from a garden centre but it has the name of DS on so he can put it on the tree for years to come. I'll also buy a Santa plate, personalise my own Christmas Eve box so that those can be ready for years to come too. I will have a ''twas the night before Xmas book given to me by my parents but if you don't have one, another idea.
