Getting excited!

Really hope I don't peak too early - it is still October after all - but I am getting so excited for Christmas! I may or may not have started listening to Heart Xmas already (egged on by dd). Resisting the urge for Christmas films for another month. I've bought DH and both kids main presents and have a list of the rest - going shopping tomorrow. Anyone else trying to keep the festive excitement at bay?!

No you are not on your own Smile I am also very excited and have been since my 100 day count down started. It’s atbay in the fact that I haven’t put a tree up but we are already on the Christmas films and music. Have finished shopping but holding off on the wrapping till the tree is up as I like to wrap under the tree.
To be fair I am excited all year round, the Christmas jumpers and socks are worn all year. I love this time of year, other look forward to their summer holiday me it’s all about Christmas.

I am already getting quite excited, but I also love Halloween so the true Christmas excitement will start 1st November I think!

Squirrelblanket · 21/10/2021 12:38

Me, I have made a promise to myself to stay off Christmas radio until at least 1 November but it's hard. 😂

Ughmaybenot · 21/10/2021 12:44

I’m with you, I’m so excited 😊 I’ve not started with Christmas songs or films, and won’t for some time, but I’ve made a good dent in the Christmas present shopping and I’m just really looking forward to it. I’m 38 weeks pregnant with our first baby so the prospect of our first Christmas as parents is a lovely one 😊

Strangevipers · 21/10/2021 13:06

Did never resist heart xmas or xmas films do it now !

Sn0tnose · 21/10/2021 13:34

I embraced it in August. Come over to the twinkly side!

I’m hoping for miserable weather on Sunday as we plan to go to the beach nice and early for a walk, get our last two presents then flop out on the sofa with hot chocolate, the Christmas Chronicles 2 and Dolly Parton’s take on a musical Christmas Carol, both on Netflix. I bought some new fairy lights last week and haven’t put them in the loft yet, so I might plug them in too, just to test them.

firstimemamma · 21/10/2021 13:37

I am incredibly excited op! I wrote my cards out in September with a huge smile.

Liverbird77 · 21/10/2021 13:53

I am too! So many fun things planned and I am ahead with cards and presents, so will hope be able to relax

I am holding off music until December, but have watched the odd film. I am saving my favourites for later though.

Thecomfortador · 21/10/2021 14:23

I'm pretty excited. When I had the house to myself a few weeks ago, I got out all the stocking fillers and decoration bits I've bought, stuck some Christmas music on and sorted them out, looked at what was there and just enjoyed thinking what else might be nice to get. DP is now home on my days off so I have less opportunity now to indulge without sharing. Also had a good look around the Christmas section in the Range last week, was very restrained in only buying a few small bits.

Fallagain · 21/10/2021 14:38

Not until the 1st of November. There is still Halloween to enjoy first. 🎃 👻

Peanut82 · 21/10/2021 14:55

I love Christmas it's my favourite time of the year. I'm more organised this year than I normally am and have made a big dent in the Xmas shopping. I bought wrapping paper today too.
Still need to buy a tree though and have avoided Christmas music and films so far

JuminoStardrop · 21/10/2021 16:17

Oh i am so excited! I have practically finished all of my christmas present shopping (i am finished but i always end up picking up the extra little bits i see when i am out and about), i have placed my order with M&S for the turkey and some other treats and am currently considering table presents for christmas dinner. I can't wait until 1st November, pass me that christmas music!!

Cindi85 · 21/10/2021 19:46

You all sound a lot more organised than me!! But I am happy to have made a start and want to put a big dent in it tomorrow. Glad I'm not alone with the Christmas music - the films will wait until November as the kids want Halloween films at the moment.
It's my absolute favourite time of the year too!!

I'm so looking forward to it, especially after the last two years!
I'm about to possibly make a big mistake and invite both our families for Christmas Day...!
I've just been sat on the bed sorting out some Home Bargains treasures for stockings and advent calendar fillers.

EssexLioness · 21/10/2021 20:51

Me too! How did I not know there was a Heart Xmas station! 😲

MeatyRvita · 21/10/2021 21:01

I have a rare day off on my own at home tomorrow while DH is at work and DS is at nursery so I’m really trying to resist the almost overwhelming urge to start wrapping presents tomorrow. I bloody love doing it but want to save it for closer to Christmas!

UndertheCedartree · 21/10/2021 21:14

Super excited here! I watched the Nutcracker and the 4 realms today and then went Christmas shopping! M&S made me feel so festive! I'm holding back a bit til Halloween but after that I'll start watching films and full-on planning!
