Present for 40 year old

I know this should be Christmas but I though I'd get some ideas here.

My best friend is 40 soon. She's a lot younger than me (I'm 53) and lives in another part of the country.

She gave me 50 pressies for my 50th so I don't want to do that. No experiences we can do together.

I am going to get her a £40 voucher for a dress company she likes but I'm willing to go up to £100.

We normally get several small presents each for normal birthdays and Christmas so what can I get?

OP, can I ask what you thought of the 50 presents thing? Because I’ve been insisting for years that it’s the worst possible gift for anyone over 12. And simply dreadful for a 75th birthday, say.

So your experience would be valuable.

(My octogenarian relatives like champagne, expensive clothes, tech.)

I'm 40. I would like a lovely dinner with a friend, a book they really loved, garden centre vouchers or some lovely new pyjamas (specific ones I've seen, not just any old thing).

Ha! Just realised I’ve conflated two threads in my answer! You don’t want to know what my elderly relatives like …

Although, actually - alcohol, expensive clothes, tech are probably exactly what I wanted at 40. (Can barely remember …)
