Alright, Christmas Folk.

I need help. Unique gift ideas for these people. Preferably under £100

12 year old boy, (going on 16, very outdoorsy)
14 year old girl (very creative)

Man, loves novelty (not plastic crap- new/niche things and activities).

Preferably not anything with little bits to clutter up the house- I've got enough of that!

I am at a loss. Sighing in frustration every time I try and find something!

Has 14 year old done needle Felting? I bought a kit with a Blue Tit for a girl and gave them some extra wool so her sister could make one too they loved it. They were younger than 14 but very crafty. I will see if I can find it. I bought it at Country Living Christmas Fair in Harrogate. The lady makes kits for robins, wrens, hares etc very good instructions. They are about £15 but you could get her a few different kits. Batik is lovely if she is careful...hot wax.
Candle kits.
Can she sew? In fact you could probably get a sewing machine for £100. Lots of offers on usually. Ask someone who sews. Don’t buy a really cheap one as it would be frustrating. Singer, brother, Bernina are good makes. John Lewis was very helpful when I bought DD for her 21st.
12 yrs. look at A day at...
Football day out tour.
Mountain bike ticket for a special day... Lakes do them at Friend bought her son one.
Canoeing or kayaking lessons.
Boarding.
Tennis racket and lessons. Could be lifelong skill.
Riding lessons.
Not sure if they have to be older at Go Ape.

Sewing machine?

Luckytattie · 17/10/2021 12:56

For the 12yr old maybe a trip to Go Ape or something?

HollyandIvyandAllThingsYule · 17/10/2021 12:59

12 year old boy - a pair of binoculars.

14 year old girl - a book on traditional Japanese painting, some paper and a set of paint, inkstone & brushes

Man - build your own radio kit.

Luckytattie · 17/10/2021 13:09

A wildlife camera

Luckytattie · 17/10/2021 13:09

Calligraphy set

Ajl46 · 17/10/2021 13:40

Man - beer brewing course or wine making course? Could combine with eg a vine for the garden?

Dellit · 17/10/2021 13:56

Would a stunt kite work for either the 12yo or man (or both if they'd like to go out together)?

Or a digital or analogue weather station?

Was it from the Crafty Kit Company? I've done a few of them and they're lovely.

Would the 14yo like a raised/tilting drawing table for her desk? This sort of thing www.montmarte.net/mont-marte-desktop-creative-station-signature/
I think they have them at tkmaxx

Metal detector for the 12 year old

Sewing machine is a good idea for the 14 year old or maybe a drawing/graphics tablet.

Leatherman tool for the man

Luckytattie · 17/10/2021 14:06

Metal detector is a great idea for the 12 yr old. I had one at that age and it was great fun!

HomeSliceKnowsBest · 17/10/2021 14:08

Drone for boy?
Some sort of exotic or unusual plant growing kit for man?

LetsGoBrandon · 17/10/2021 14:17

Needle felting went down well for my creative DD, she loved it until she moved onto drawing which she has remained obsessed with! I would definitely recommend felting.

Luckytattie · 17/10/2021 14:33

Telescope for 12 yr old

HollyandIvyandAllThingsYule · 17/10/2021 14:40

Another outdoor gift that might go down well is his own flask so he can go out with his own hot chocolate/tea/soup.

foxgoosefinch · 17/10/2021 15:17

Bat detector?

Terrarium for the man

OldTinHat · 17/10/2021 16:03

How about a cheese making kit for the man? I was given one for my birthday and I love it!

FuckingFabulous · 17/10/2021 19:58

Good ideas!

Might get a decent metal detector for the boy.

Felting and sewing might be hard for DD as she has tremors.

Man. He's more difficult. He recently grew some avocado plants from seed of which he is terribly proud, so maybe some plants
