Small heated throw?

Hi,

We'd love to buy a heated throw this Christmas for an elderly Aunt. However, she is in a care home in single hospital bed and has problems with mobility in her shoulders, so we want to get her a single sized one. Otherwise she'll be swamped bless her!

All the heated throws I can find are at least double sized, and the heated shawls are all USB charged and she doesn't have easy access to those and would have to ask care staff to take it out of the room to charge which she wouldn't do for fear of being a nuisance.

Any suggestions hive mind? I think she'd find it a real benefit as she gets cold easily being bed bound, but don't want to drown her in blanket!

Thanks so much.

Buy a plug in usb charger for use in her room for a shawl?
Not expensive.

Don't even the USB ones have to be plugged into the USB while they are being used? So you'd have to check carefully the length of the cable and whether you can plug it into a USB charger plugged into the mains.

Would an ordinary heating pad be big enough, or maybe just a fleecy poncho style thing without the actual heating part of it?

Or a heated blanket for in her bed, under the sheets.

Hi,

They aren't keen on the electric blankets at the home as sometimes incontinence can be an issue so they prefer the ones that go over the top. I think just a standard throw may be the only option which is a bit of a shame as I think the heated ones would do a better job and she'd feel more in control of her temperature.

Never mind, thanks all!

The Dreamland heated fur throw in Argos is 120x160cm so the size of a single duvet and is fabulous. Mine is going into its second winter and is in the top 5 favourite things I have ever bought.
