My ILs and my Aunt and Uncle no longer want things (they are in their 70s) but do seem to appreciate either things for the garden or things to eat. Neither couple are drinkers.

In the past I've bought olive trees, orchids, rose bushes, hampers from M&S. last year I got a Bettys hamper for PIL and they scoffed it right down.

Any other recommendations- needs to be quite traditional if it's food but weird and wonderful for plants. Budget isn't huge though - around £50 for one and 75 for other.....

If they really enjoyed a Betty’s hamper last year why not just get one again? Better to get something they really like than something new just for the sake of newness.

I was going to say if they really enjoyed it get it again.

What about something unusual like a wollemi pine? It's prehistoric!

Or, a hori hori if they enjoy gardening? Best garden tool ever!
