What size of tablet for kids?

I'm debating between a 8inch and 10inch. LO will be 5, can't decide if he'd benefit more from it being compact verses the bigger screen.

We have both sizes of kindle (7 and 10 inch) and the kids (age 6 and 8) seem to prefer the smaller one.

Thanks for your response @noscoobydoodle.
I do wonder if the lighter weight would make the smaller ones better for them. I was using my tablet last night and was really conscious of the weight.

My 5yr old has the kindle fire 8 and it's a great size for her

The kindle fire 7 tablet has 1gb RAM which makes it frusratingly slow, the 8 has 2gb RAM and the 10 has 3gb RAM. If you are going for the smaller one, which I think is a bit better for younger ones, I would say pay the small amount extra for the 8 as the 7 will be much slower and frustrating for younger ones when apps crash or load slow.

DS will be 5 just before Christmas and I’m getting him the 10 to replace his 7. He finds the 7 really small and gets on well with using my iPad on occasion so think he’ll be fine with the 10.

I'm not sure if we should go with Kindle or a Samsung / Lenovo android.
The rest of the house is all android.

But it's certainly a good point to keep an eye on the ram as well as the physical size.

We have 7/8/10 inch and 8 is probably the preferred size here - 7 is old and slow, 10 is nice but big to carry around.
